    Rear audio controls

My current one doesn't have them, but the last one did. Couldn't use one side, the headphone jack wouldn't go in properly, however hard I pushed. I use the Disco for carrying wheat to feed pheasants and I eventually found a couple of grains of wheat in the socket. By the time I pulled them out...

    Rear audio controls

Could be. Not really something someone can answer on t'internet really. I take it the original one wasn't working. Or did it have one originally? If not, do you have the right head unit? The power source may well be there, knowing Land Rover they might have put the wiring there for every vehicle.

2nd row seats stuck to floor

It does sound as though it's the type of thing that perhaps hasn't actually been moved for a long time on this vehicle, if ever. No doubt a combination of water (there has been the odd leak in the odd Land Rover), half sucked sweeties, something leaking down the back from the shopping in the...

Looking to purchase my First D2, advise please

"I don't see why everyone needs to know what he wants it for". Because he was asking for advice on what to buy and if he matches what he buys with what he uses it for, then it'll get more use, be a better value buy and make him happier. In my garage I've got a running machine. Lovely thing...

Looking to purchase my First D2, advise please

The access to back seats on the D2 is just a little awkward as standard, especially if you're a little stiff and elderly. I think with that one, I'd seriously use the sunroof to get in!

Looking to purchase my First D2, advise please

I think thebiglad is right. Think hard about what use it will be put to. Do you want/need a seriously capable offroad vehicle? A blinged-up pose mobile, a vehicle to carry you and yours to do some other hobby, a towing vehicle or simply somewhere safe to cart kids about. All legitimate...

Trawling the net for a decent disco

Yep, I should think that for that type of money, you should be looking at one of the last TD5 Discos. Whether you want to go for a fully loaded one is another matter only you can answer. I think all the last ones had climate control, so no worries there. But at the end there were two models...

    looking to buy a disco 2 td5

Looking around it, it will likely seem good. Look underneath, at the back see if the same holds true. From what you say about the window, it seems mechanical rather than electrical, first port of call would be to take the door card off and see what's occurring. Hard to tell what the...

    TD5 Occassional power loss

If I had to take a guess I'd say it was the injector harness. Have a look at the red plug where it goes into the ECU and see if there's oil inside there. That seems to fit the symptoms, but so can other things.

    Acceleration ...

You say that it's been mapped...wonder if that's the issue. In normal factory condition, there is a bit of a flat spot as you let out the clutch and you often have to give it a bit more throttle to get the plot moving, but that's really something that you soon learn to accomodate with your...

    Discovery 2 CD not opening

Not opening as in not doing anything including playing? Does it make a sound as if it wants to open but doesn't? That was mine in a 200MY Disco I had and the result was that the thing was cream crackered. The only way to retrieve the magazine involved violence.

    steering wheel horn buttons

If one of the horn buttons on the wheel wasn't sitting right, then I'd perhaps see if that may be the problem. Probably it's been out before and there's a short in the wheel.

Air to Coil Springs or not???

If you do a bit of heavy towing, you can fit heavy duty coils.

Sorry Tale of Woe... TD5 (many problems)

Phew. I hope, after all that, you've got a sorted vehicle. Because if not, and it was me, I'd be tempted to check it's 0-60 time. Off a cliff!

    My new td5.........hmmmmm

I used to have a high spec one. The rainroofs leaked, the air suspension went phut so that it looked like a dog dragging it's arse (and was replaced by springs), the active cornering enhancement went bang and the aircon didn't work. I've now got a younger, lower spec one which, of the above...

    Water Leaking through roof lights

    Yep, I would guess rainroof.

Air to Coil Springs or not???

Yep, I agree, having had one of each the air suspension is superior. But not by much. The coils give nearly as good a ride as the air. You really have to weigh up the costs. If your air suspension has an easy fix, then perhaps stick with it. But it's inevitable that things go wrong from time...

    Landmark

I've got an 04 Disco but it's a Pursuit, which is the one without many of the bells and whistles. Haven't had much in the way of trouble with it really (that's done it!). They are, of course the last of the TD5's, so many of the problems experienced by older cars may well be ahead of us...

Electrical poltergeist messing with my truck!!!!

I hold no truck with anyone who calls a Land Rover a truck.
