Still not checked that ball joint (keep forgetting) but an update on the noise...There's NO clunk when I drop off the power and rather than just a noise the whole car visibly jolts when power is applied....

Sorry guys! I just realised this will be way too impractical for me. I am no longer taking the transfer box! Sorry to mess everyone around.

I have the halfords but I am dubious as to whether it will actually lift my utility 110 - pretty sure it's going to be 2.2 Ton +

I've booked a week off work to mess about with the landy. I feel like I need some sort of battle plan to maximise my efficiency which I would appreciate yours guys help with. So here's the situation: Recently bought this vehicle - bought first landy I saw (stupid I know) There's an issue...

I would like a 1.4 transfer box in good condition. Preferably not too old or too high a mileage. Willing to pay anywhere up to what it would cost me to get Ashcroft to recondition my own, depending on the condition of the box offered.

There's something about a 1.6 box that appears to me even though I'll never be pulling anything big :P

Not checked the rear A frame ball joint but had a quick look at the UJs. They look OK but I might swap them out at the same time as doing the transfer box.

Right - Here is a video of the play in the front-prop. Is this problem likely to be related? The noise does sound like it's coming from further back. In any case, I'm guessing there shouldn't be this much play in the prop...
