    wiper blades

Aero twins are brilliant. I've used them for 5 years on various cars. Not too cheap admittedly, but they do last and won't squeak or drag at all :) Got some on order for my mum's Freelander at the moment. AR550S is the one for the Freelander.

    Smoky Fuel Burning Heater

My first thought when I saw it was 'oh my god the radiator is leaking', then I smelled it and thought 'oh my god it's gonna blow!'

What is that noise on start up ?

Here is a video of my mum's Freelander this morning on a cold start. It's just the FBH isn't it? (Now that I know what a FBH is!) It made this noise about 30 seconds after start up and went away just after the video finished. It seems to be the FBH.

    Smoky Fuel Burning Heater

It only seems to do it on the first start of the day. I stood and watched it today and I think I may have been over reacting. It's not that bad and goes away once the FBH has properly fired up

    Smoky Fuel Burning Heater

Thanks, that's reassuring to know. Is there anything I can clean or replace to help with the smoke at all?

    Smoky Fuel Burning Heater

Hi all, Had the Freelander a couple of days and I've noticed the FBH is really quite smoky, particularly first thing in the morning. I understand that the car isn't blowing up, but the amount of smoke makes it look quite alarming :D I have heard of people pulling fuse 5 which disables...

What is that noise on start up ?

:p Yep I've got your back! We've got the freelander now and it does seem to do it. It's a manual, just for the record. I've already stopped noticing it :) you barely hear it from inside. It comes from the passenger side wheel arch if it's the same noise we're both on about!

New addition to the Land Rover family

Got it back home this evening. The previous owner had it cleaned inside and out today, which was a nice touch. Performed flawlessly on the way back, my mum's over the moon with it. I took it down to the Chinese and I'm really impressed. The TD4 is surprisingly punchy and smooth - especially...

New addition to the Land Rover family

Thank you. I haven't got as far as mods yet, I've done the EGR on my Discovery, so it may be a good place to start. I'll have a look around! I usually reside in the Discovery section of the forum, so it's nice to meet a new crowd in the Freelander bit! Excellent, is the cog a part that...

New addition to the Land Rover family

Hi all, Apologies if this is a bit "wordy" - just skip to the pictures if you like! Since having my Discovery, my mum has become rather too fond of it for my liking. She's afraid of parking it, but likes the drive. A few months ago, she announced that she wanted a Land Rover of her...

    dash cam

I've got a G1WH in my Disco and my Golf. Just over £30 and I really couldn't be happier. One of the few cheap ones worth buying. I've used mine whilst driving and also green laning. They use a suction mount which is really sturdy, so no chance of shaky video. Record in 1080p, take a micro...

What is that noise on start up ?

I'm keen to know this too. Viewed two at the weekend and both did it. I actually pulled over thinking there was a problem!

Must give this a go in the missus Freelander.

:D Love it! Freelander stood up well to the abuse! I've got a dixie horn in my Disco too, but I don't think it would ever get up enough speed to lift its considerable bulk off the ground ;)

    V6 and I ( a Freelanders tale)

That gave me a good laugh. Sorry to hear about your woes - at least you don't let it get you down!

How to re-black the plastic trims?

Good luck. Heat gun will work a treat, works great on disco bumpers. My advice would be to go over it once and avoid the temptation to keep going back over the same spot as it quickly gets bendy! Let it cool a bit before going back over it!

    Wanted - musical horns

I installed them in July I think. Been through a few fords since then and it's all working fine still :)

    Wanted - musical horns

Yes, yes you should! The ebay seller was called YooPar. The exact listing I bought mine from has long since expired, but I imagine the seller has them still. They were actually £22 and have black horns as opposed to chrome ones (the crap ones were chrome, so maybe one thing to look out for)...

    Wanted - musical horns

I bought some Dixie horns off ebay which have been fine, I can find the link later if you want. They were about £35 from memory and are really good. Before that, I got some from a different seller. After an afternoon of installing, I took it down the road to test them ... And it was La...

heated seats and front windscreen wiper problem

Good to know you got them fitted. How did you manage with the hog rings and fitting the pads? My heated seats never went anywhere - I've managed without them but it would have been nice. Weirdly the leather in my Disco seems less freezing cold to sit on than the leather in my Golf (which is...
