:confused:Hi Margo,I have a97 p38 that had a tendancy to alarm at arkward times.The problem with mine on the dash stated[drivers side door open]I replaced the door lock mechanism with a second hand unit,and that sorted it.You need to let us know what fault is showing on the dash if possible.

Got to agree with robp38,if you want a diesel powered vehicle buy a tractor.

sounds like the lock mechanism needs to be stripped out and cleaned,also check actuation rods are moving freely and interior door release cable has no damage.Good luck.

you could try a catalyst cleaner and give it a good booting ,but only at 70mph otherwise it would be illegal.
