Freelander 1 TD4 Clutch Slip - long term

thats only on the 1.8 petrol and the di rover engine, the slave cylinder is inside the gear box bell housing on the gearbox mainshaft on td4,i think you have done well to get a slipping clutch to last that long!!!!! and im sure you can get it done for a lot less than that if you by the parts of...

    rear driveshaft

check all drive shafts for play on inner cv,as i said the noise isnt always where you think it is!!!!
  13. thrasher

    rear driveshaft

it is hard to pin point noises on a fl due to design of the drive train,if you removed the complete prop and vcu and drove about and noise still there then it isnt the prop bearings!!
  14. thrasher

    rear driveshaft

its suppose to move in and out but if it was moving up and down that would cause a noise possibly, but it is more likely to be the propshaft bearings, you cant always tell by looking or seeing if theres play in them unless they are totaly knackered
  15. thrasher

    road noise

probably prop bearings, you want feel any play, due to design of freeklander the noise travels through the drive train
  16. thrasher

Noise whilst turning right at slow speed

inner cv joint, jack it up and grab shaft and try to move it up and down not in and out if theres any movement thats your problem mine doing it and going to get new shaft of eblag
  17. thrasher

    clutch pedal stiff and noise??

the rod going in to gearbox at the slave cylinder probably siezed get plenty wd 40 sprayed on it!! and whirring could be prop shaft bearings both pretty common and easily fixed
