first fuel consumption figures are in. We are getting about 24mpg driving around London. Driving to PoL and back, most of which was cruising at 65mph or so on the M40 got me 30mpg. I don't know how that compares with a manual 1.8 but it doesn't seem too bad to me.

I'll be working from the inlaws for the entire school holiday, so "go" yes, "on holiday", not so much.

Today I found a hill steep enough to test the hill descent and it works! Forwards and backwards.

Manual: it's all powered through the gearbox switch, very simple. Auto: powered by a relay which is triggered (from memory) by the Jatco ECU.

Mine did a thing a few days ago that freaked me out. It started this thing that it would crank and fire but would only fire for half a second or so and then die. I put it on jump leads and then it ran but it's been in the back of my mind ever since. Why would a car crank and fire but then not...

Two more sensors arrived today from Rimmer Bros and I fitted them, so now all four sensors are new. The thing is, with ignition on but engine not running, the system sort of works, but the middle ones do sod all.
