Shaking/wobbling/wandering front end on RR Classic

There's a harmonic steering stabiliser (or something like that fitted underneath). Looks a bit like a discus. I saw mine when I replaced the steering damper and wondered what it was and apparently they are often removed which can have the affect you describe. I think it is supposed to work by...

Range Rover Classic headunit headache! Pics of the wire based carnage within...

I've heard about these guys before - well its Clarion themselves isn't it. Fortunately for me they are about 10 miles away so I might go and see them.

Traction Control in snow and ice - yay or nay?

Mike, I don't know the mechanicals but using mine last winter I only saw the TC light flash a couple of times and then only for a second or so. Mostly I imagine if it did come on it allowed the tfaction I needed and off I went. I'm nearly ready for this winter - 4 Pirelli Scorpion winters and a...

My Range Rover Classic expedition project (ongoing, pics etc)

Starter motors - ha, glad it wasn't just me then. I could reach one bolt but not the other. Mine hadn't given up at that point so I left it to work out how. At which point it did give up so the AA took it to a local autoelectricians last xmas eve and they had a pig of a job to do it. I think...

Range Rover Classic - bad vibrations. Not happy!

From personal experience - yes! Mine got to a stage where a trip down the motorway at 60+mph was all but impossible. The whole car would shake violently if you hit even the tiniest bump. All better now :)

Range Rover Classic - bad vibrations. Not happy!

I had horrible vibration on mine until I had the swivel preloads done. It made the car almost undrivable at speed. You need a set of spring balances. Your symptoms don't sound like mine though.

My Range Rover Classic expedition project (ongoing, pics etc)

Mike re doors. One rear and one front door don't operate on the central locking. Well they do but they don't lift the plipper thing high enough as as soon as you pull the outside handle they drop a fraction but enough to stop the door from opening. Is this what you had and is it this brass...

My Range Rover Classic expedition project (ongoing, pics etc)

Mike, You might want to look at getting a cheap LR load protector - I paid £10 on ebay. You can then proceed to cut it up to fit what you want. It would cover your carpet and give a harder liquid protective layer too.

    Classic Repair bits

I've got the bonnet and decker panel off mine at the moment (well by proxy anyway) to investigate the waterleak. As expected the metal above the inner wing and onto the bulkhead is really quite poor (around where the sunroof drain tube arrives). Are there any sort of repair panels for up...

    POLL: with spotlights or without?

Without Mike. Bit big for my liking. I have a pair of spots built into the grill which I don't dislike, except I can't find any replacements.

The EAS Range Rover Classic CLub has been launched!

I like my LSE and air. I'd be prepared to spend a bit to get it fixed should that become necessary. The rear legroom is really quite something although it has to be said most of my trips are one up! Mike, mine adjusts when you close the last door when you stop. I'm not aware of the pump running...

    MOT, cats and rangies

Spoken to the MOT station and they're not sure about this bit! Key would appear to be whether the "tested as prersented" bit still applies. I can't find mention of that in the VOSA paperwork but that doesn't mean it isn't there. If it still applies then no cat should be ok. If it doesn't then it...

    MOT, cats and rangies

Update - it has just been pointed out to me that these new 2012 rules state that a cat must be present for all those cars that need a full cat test. LPG cars of course need a non cat test so there may be a way out if you have LPG but not if you don't.

    will disco dash fit rrc?

Softdash rrc are almost disco dashes - there a few fitting differences I gather. I'm fairly sure the bulkhead is different between hard and soft dash rrc so whilst it may be able to be fitted it may not be as straightforward as it could be.

Parts needed Range Rover Classic LSE LWB

There are a couple on ebay being broken - one in Faringdon in Oxon. Don't forget most parts are the same as the short versions - just not things like the rear doors, side skirts from Brooklands kit etc. Basically anything to do with the length.
