    removing headunit

    Got it out in the end, wasn't being brutal enough! One useful thing is that there is a reset button by the main volume knob. On a classic you have to remove the knob and peel away the trim from that bottom corner. Hopefully that will get rid of my cd error code and get it working again.

    Rear side windows apparently. I've asked for a set but they need to make more so I'm still waiting to hear. Hoping they do the job. They have been NLA for ages and other rubber co have said it wasn't wroth paying for the tooling.

    Tapping cam follower on one cylinder. It was covered but the exhaust manifold blowing! Very quiet when cold but taps a bit when warm. I imagine the cam could do with replacing so followers, rocker gear etc. In itself it doesn't mean rebuilding the engine but it might be worth investing a bit in...

    removing headunit

    I need to get the Clarion hu out of my soft dash but I can't seem to. Best I can find on line is this for a p38 radiolcd its the same hu so I assume it comes out the same way but at the moment no amount of wiggling i those 2 holes seems to get me any closer to getting it out. Any suggestions?

    If I wanted a rebuilt, turnkey V8 where should I look and what should I expect to pay? Could I drop in a TVR version or would that just not work without changes? For a classic RR as my 4.2 may need some work it seems.

    Have you got Rave? Try here land rover rave technical system workshop manuals you can't be without. I'm assuming it won't turn over at all rather than spins but won't start. If the latter you might suspect the fuel pump.

    More classic problems - brakes this time

    No brake light just abs and tc. There is a sound missing from the usual ones when starting the car so clearly the pump isn't running. I've dug out the relays and I'll try the diagnostic port tomorrow. Is it clipped into the row of relays or just lying about?
