    how do you check the relay then ? what does it even look like, all I can see under the seat is the amp and a connector with a cable going up into the seat. again thanks for any info.

    yes..does the relay control both seats or individual ones as the driver side works ok ? got a feeling its the elements so will have to bung the multi meter on the plug at the seat end to find out.

    yes my wire is broken just as it goes into the plug so no soldering to fix...grrr, so if you can find the part numbers for me td4van that would be good.

    yes mate, spoke to my local indi guy and he said LR ones are (sharp intake of breath) expensive, cant remember which ones he said he uses...said they are okay but I'm spooked...he is phoning me this week with parts price...but I will insist on OEM with him or source them myself for him to fit...

    Skinny Mike you are spot on, well about 99% mate, took my TD4 to bell's and he found that the rear bearing was flopping about like the skin on a dieters stomach... well actually the bearing was intact but the rubber surround had failed. So the vcu and the ird was ok, so need to change both...
