ok guys having been running about with the maf unplugged now for around 30 miles there no changes. the best mpg i can get is 29/30 to the gallon driving at a constant 60mph. no change when i plug maf back in so could this be my problem ? can a maf be fulty and not throw a code up ? mark

if its still on the road then its still getting money poured into it mate :)

i know mate a set of red or blue ones would just be the ticket but at the moment the extra ££££ goes to getting the fl 100%. once all is well if there is such a thing with having a fl :) then a set will be on the cards

will let you know how i get on with this mate i plan on using the atf-u and this method next month

2001 no sensor so should do the job ?

my intercooler to inlet manifold hose is always oilly so am going change it along with the egr to inlet one the turbo to intercooler one is fine and dry and hard not soft like the others so sure this one is fine are these the two i need ? LAND ROVER FREELANDER 1 TD4 - Intercooler Elbow Hose...

yet to take mines off road yet mate propshaft came off the day i got it because the vcu had had it but looking forward to taking it off road :)

hang on in there mate. the misses keeps telling me it was a bad idea with the fl but for what i payed for it (£500) with 9 month mot and what i need to spend on it i think i will have a good fl once done. its all ware and tear stuff that needs doing disks+pads vcu+bearings diff seals full...

i know what you mean mate my fl needs about £700 worth of parts to get her sweet again

i will give this a go. having done 103000 miles and still on the same map would you think it would be on its last legs ?

ok so am thinking my maf has had it. poor mpg and down on power under 2200 rpm. i plugged in my cheap scanner and no codes. could it be u/s and not put out a code ? also tried unplugging maf with engine running to see if there was any change. there was no change . should there of been ?

drove to the garage filled her up with bp ultimate diesel £1.54L up here. nothing broke on the drive :)

well after reading all that am even more paranoid now :( but am going to change the fluid first and take it from there. so worst case most of this gearbox work can be done in the car ?
