tested mines today in 4th at 70mph rpm 3500. sounds like yours isnt going into 5th mate

Cheers sv I know one thing tho if my td4 was rattling away at 3500rpm on the motorway it would be doing 80+ mph so to me i would say the poster has a problem with his td4 auto

Mines sits at 2150rpm at 60mph and just over 2500rpm doing 70mph Hope that helps td4 by the way

So i changed the s shape intercooler hose today because is was starting to seep oil but any way while the hose was off i thought if i start it it will put out black smoke out the exhaust under throttle ? But no nothing should there of been ? Mark

thats why i said ird in your other post mate because the gearboxs seem pritty well made compared to the ird

thats bad luck mate. am running in mondo mode atm because of a tight vcu so with that and other problems its got its really starting to test me :)

its doesnt look like its ever been changed but who knows. lock up in 4th seems better but 5th is still the same when its changes from 4th to 5th its like it slips and i have to back off the power a wee bit for it to lock up then its fine am just hopping that another fluid change sorts it out...

So it was the ird. Glad to got to the bottom of it mate. Mondo mode is not to bad tbh just dont try and pull away fast on a wet road because all it will do is sit and spin on the spot

It just smelt like very used oil tbh mate. Seems to be smother when changing but i will need to wait till the second change to see if it helps my lock up problem. Another thing only 3l came out ? But 4.5 went back in to level ? Low on fluid ?

Ok guys so after losts of reading up about the gibson method i decided not to go down that road and do a full flush the reason being is i wasn't wanting to take the chance and over clean the box in one go and mabe cause problems for the valve block so first change done am going to do another one...

just a thought but if someone has went through the trouble of replacing the ird and fitting a non working vcu it could be posable that the ird came from the same cowboys as the vcu ? Meaning mabe its the ird thats the problem. Pritty sure the ird would go before the box but i could be wrong...
