yes mate it seemed to be working hard at some points 3200 rpm in 4th at some points going up hills etc. i will also take a look at the hoses mate. It was the first time towing with the freelander and i think i was expecting it to tow like my old 3.0v6 omega

Cheers for your reply mate crankcase breather was replaced about 1000 miles ago so dont think it could be that but worth checking anyway. Will need to get the engine cover off and have a good look tomorrow

Ok so last night i had the pleasure of towing my mates caravan 20 miles on arrival at the location there was smoke coming from my bonnet now i havent had a proper look yet but the sump is covered in oil along with the back of the subframe any ideas ? Funny how this is happened while towing this...

Right am confused now so is there 2 filters on the td4 ? Mines has 1 under the bonnet next to the fuse box but cant find this 1 ?
