    Series 2A Brakes nightmare!!

You must allow a small amount of free travel in the brake pedal when adjusting things. I know you have fitted a new master cyl, but if it is sucking air in (dirt in seal?) it will cause this problem.

    chassis change

Just gob a good coat of underseal over the new chassis and rebuild your old landy on it. Keep your original identity. Even if the MOT man looks at it and discovers its been "fully repaired" so what? He is not allowed remove the underseal to check it - just to give it a light tap. Job done.

    Overheating ignition coil

Make sure you get a genuine 12volt coil that actually says 12volt on it. Lucas supplied me with supposedly the right one but not marked (think it said "DVB" or summat on it).Overheated and also Melted rotor arms in no time. Turned out the B stands for Ballast and I think without a ballast...

    Series 1 Webber Carb

Had one of these on mine for years. Accelleration is improved. Get around 25mpg on a long run with it, (with overdrive), so pretty good. Eventually I had probs with stalling and wouldnt restart when hot, so I replaced it with a brand new one of the same off Fleabay. Later I found that the rubber...

    Ol' Smokey

If the white smoke disappears after a good run, then it is probably just condensation in the exhaust system. If it was water in the fuel, it would be running a bit rough. Has the coolant level gone down at all? (Head gasket)

    Water Logged Freelander.

Take off rear door card and membrane. Try to borrow a dehumidifier and leave in on in the vehicle for at least 2 days (or until no more water come out of it) with all doors and windows shut (tape some polythene over rear door window. Remote fobs

Hi, I'm a newbie to this forum, although not to L/R "Series" vehicles. I have just bought a late 2001 1.8GS Freelander. It came with 2 keys, but no remote fobs. There is no problem with starting or locking/unlocking manually, but it would be nice to have a working remote. I see various people...

    Howdy Guys (and Gals)

Another newbie here, although have had various Series Ones for many a moon. I am now also the proud?? owner of a 2001 3 door Freelander with the renowned 1.8 petrol engine. So far, no probs, but I suppose its early days yet. From reading various threads it seems that later 2001 onwards (like...
