Illegal if you don't pay duty on it. Illegal if emissions are bad enough on your vehicle. Can't imagine insurers would be too impressed either.

Using old engine oil is illegal, and will do neither the environment nor your engine any good due to metalic residues.

Not quite as simple, but yes you are limited to a max combined vehicle+trailer/caravan weight of 3.5 tons. Combination also needs to be safe, and within capabilities of your towing vehicle. Typically caravan shouldn't exceed 80% of towing vehicles weight. Lots of advice on Towsure website...

Looks a bit expensive to me. I'm using a cheap (£8/5L) 20/50 Oil from Wilkos at moment in my 2.25 petrol, which is basically the same engine. But I'm doing an oil change at 2000m, and need regular topups, due to (previously worn) valve guides. Mark

No bother, glad its running better. Tip when changing oil is to drain it after a run, so the oils nice and warm. That way it will drain out easier, and new oil will stay cleaner. Likewise if you're passing near LS16 (Westpark),give me a call re popping in to have a look at the series over a...
