    Series 2A windscreen-cheap for refurb

I'm after a replacement windscreen frame for my S2. Don't need any glass, but do need the inner metal trims. Plan is to strip the frame and if necessary get it re-galved before fitting heated windscreens. Cheers Mark

    Is a 1998 2.0d worth £200?

Probably worth £200 to scrap it, and break it for parts!. Mind you could always remove the rear prop and diff and use it as a FW drive runabout, to save the expense of replacing the IRD and VCU. Mark

    300 tdi

You should have a mechanical lift pump attached to the side of the engine. This pumps into the fuel filter. I'd start with changing the fuel filter anyway, and also disconnect and bypass your lift pump. If the engine runs OK with just the injection pump pulling fuel, yourlift pumps had it, or...

    200tdi power loss = help!!!

My money's on a failed lift pump, or if you are lucky, a partial fuel blockage somewhere, or maybe a sticky injection pump stop solenoid valve. Start by cleaning the sedimeter, and changing your fuel filter,if you've got access to compressed air, blow your fuel pipes back towards the tank...

    Mot... Fail :(

Having recently had my MOT for my series 2, I find it amazing that anything thats had basic checks can fail an MOT. The tester only looked at the chassis/mounts/steering/brakes/lights/exhaust. All obvious areas that any DIY mechanic should be able to self check fairly effectively before...

    still looking, hard work !

Good luck with your quest, although if your scared of rust and crap paintwork, you'd be better off with a "Gaylander"

300TDI Diesel leak from throttle seal

Yep pretty easy job. Hardest bit was getting all the parts, but luckily we've got a local diesel injection specialist supplier (Sewells of Leeds) who could get everything. After that a couple of web searches turned up simple easy guides to the job. Definately worth doing the spindle/bush,mine...

    engine breather 300tdi

Crikey fella I really do worry about whether people with such limited technical skills should own a Landy. It really is a public liability if you can't "road fix" to get you home. Mark

    2 1/4 series 3 engine no spark..

Not else in the system other than coil, plugs and leads. Replacing the Dizzy would replace the rotor arm, points and condenser as standard. You can check whether you are getting a spark out of the secondary of the coil by removing a spark plug and connecting it directly to the output side of the...

2.25 Diesel cuts out when warm

Not sure whether you've got a LWB or SWB, but either way tank should be easy enough to drop out Not sure on cost of tank (and what you consider cheap). I think I'd be tempted to drop your tank out and give it a really good swill out. Depending on what comes out, and the condition of it,it...

2.25 Diesel cuts out when warm

My money would be on fuel starvation and/or air getting into the system. I had similar issues on my 300TDI powered series 2 88". On investigation I found fuel pickup pipe was restricted, and air being sucked in. Also muck was being sucked into the lift pump. This caused the lift pump...

is it a standard engine replacement?

See if you can get it covered with somebody under a limited mileage classic car policy. Mark

    2 1/4 series 3 engine no spark..

For the costs i'd buy a replacement Dizzy. They are less than £20 at Paddocks. Mark
