Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

The arms sort castor and pressure on the mounting bush. Modified swivels would only fix castor

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

Like the look of those recovery points :) Re: swivels, I think I might buy a couple from the breakers and see what I can do with them. Although I fear welding a redrilling holes on a small lift will cause problems as the holes would most definatly overlap, a larger lift may not? If there was...

    Getting there! upgrades to a 1986 90

Some pics of my Disco :D

To be honest your better off doing that. I can't see a truck being very good offroad.

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

What about dropping the mounts on the chassis? 50mm lift =50mm drop on the chassis? Obviously your loosing 50mm ground clearance at those points but surely there is something else lower anyway?

Also, found this... Caster Corrected Front Swivels, How to do it... - Australian Land Rover Owners Seems a hell of a lot easier than messing with the radius arms. And could be done via standard swivels and some re-drilling/tapping i reckon

how big is a gearbox + xfr box..

Size wise, yes. But unless you put it in with an egine hoist, expect scratched car and a bad back! I had enough on putting one in ky disco with 2 of us the other week.

where to wire a switch in to roof bar lights?

Jesus redhand, one relay for 2 lights? You trying to bankrupt the poor bloke! A contactor can be had for sub 15 quid that'll power a winch!

    help ... 33's and gearing

Mine will do 70+ on 31's so 60 should be no problem on 33

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

I measured it earlier. And I meant 65mm as per my 1st post up there ^^^^ 35 was a typo.

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

Green, just remove your prop and jack your diff drive flange so its ctr is 35mm above the ctr of your hub, then measure your angle. If that wont work ill have a crack at whipping my shaft off tomorrow

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

Which i why i asked for a datum on the diff (not the flange face as that'll be opening a can of worms there no doubt)
  20. Glb8686

Discovery Rust - Boot, Sills and Wings

Right! I get a difference of 65mm from the CTR of the hub to the CTR of the drive flange on the diff.
