    conFUSEing issue

Hmm not sure what's up with that its in the electric section on myfreelander. Co.UK has a few wiring diagrams there, not sure where the relay'll live. Be either in the cubby box under the steering wheel or in the engine bay. Either way there should be a picture of it on the fuse box lid.

    conFUSEing issue

Here's a circuit diagram, I would check to see if there's power at the relay from the battery and from the switch, could be a dodgy relay, but aye bit posh having heated wind screen wish I had one.

Wheel bearings - In with the old and out with the new???

We always convert to the early set up at work, easier should they need adjusting in future only downside is it isn't quite as quick to refit it the hubs been removed just for access like a disc, but all other times I would recommend the old set up save clarting about with spacers.

    Gear issues

Had this on mine hadn't been out of use long though, started up in first low box and drive round with the clutch down being 'jerky' on the throttle. Happily the revs picked up and I lost drive so the clutch had freed off, first time it happened though it was a gearbox out job, had been sitting...

    strange noise transmission

Is it the knocking noise you're talking about or is that the recording of the engine, if its the wirring when it gets revved up have a look at carrier bearings, if you're driving on the road these would give a wirring noise from the handbrake area if they're dodgey.

Td4 problems after changing fuel filter

Ahright apologies I was thinking of the filter that fits in the rear wheel arch

Td4 problems after changing fuel filter

Sounds daft but is the filter in the right way round just I've seen them fitted the wrong way before.

    Freelander engine stopped dead

What were u doing at the time? Like accelerating? Cruising? And is there any lights on the dash? Does it still turn over alright etc? If it was fuel I would expect the engine to splutter then die instead of stopping dead.

    Freelander Intercooler Hose Sensor

Yeah I agree with that it would be easier changing a hose than I ECU I would think.

    Introducing My TD4

Hello, smart looking freelander, like the interior especially, shame about the ird blowing though. What kind of head unit does it have just i have a f1 the same age and am trying to fit a CD changer to it but unsure if the head unit I've got is compatible. Cheers ed

Turbo vent filter actually missing (really missing)

Ah my apologies I didn't see that it was in the second PIC, aye it is a queer looking thing

    Heated seat kit advice please.

Hello, looking at the britpart heated seat kit to treat the freelander, I was wondering if anyone had fitted one before and if there is anything to be aware of, the wiring I can handle but I'm just a bit nervous at taking my seats to bits, the freelander is 2002 td4 with the cloth seats. Also...

Turbo vent filter actually missing (really missing)

All the f1s I've ever serviced have had the normal filter (Looks like an in line fuel filter), if it was me I would refit an original pipe and filter at least until you know what the box is, any chance of a picture of it I'm curious?

    now this ones expensive

    I'm missing something? :p

    now this ones expensive

I like it, shame to see a classic butched they would have been better off modding a 110 but folk are doing similar stuff to s3s when really they're a classic now too. Wonder what condition the original vehicle was in, if it was completely trashed then at least they've saved one, although not...

Hello, what had happened at this faux call?

I'm planning on making a mechanical replacement for the VCU!

If you had it so it still had the vcu then at the sign of ice or snow just put it in 4 wheel drive mode and it would act like a normal freelander, plus it would wind up just as much as a normal f1 too.

I'm planning on making a mechanical replacement for the VCU!

The best way of doing it would be to put the disengagement part on the front prop and keep the vcu, probably more work than its worth but it would mean the vcu would prevent the serious wind up on road with it engaged, and when disengaged it would prevent all the drivetrain problems associated...

I'm planning on making a mechanical replacement for the VCU!

I like the idea a lot, it would prevent most of the drivetrains issues caused by the vcu, please keep posting your updates
