Front Winch Bumper with indicator protection

ARB bars aren't cheap, but are easily the best in the business and the only sort I'd ever buy. They also look far better than any other bar out there. I've got the non-winch model, but can easily be converted with a $100 plate/mount. Save your money and get one when you can afford it imo. :)...

    Let's go shopping!

I've just sold the race exhaust from my motorbike and have $650 free to throw at the Disco. :D YouTube- Yello - Oh Yeah I've been contemplating a few things to buy for it, but there's so many choices...suspension, armour, etc. I've been fancying a 2" suspension lift, but the local prices...

    Drivers Door window Update

I just replaced the regulators on the drivers window, and the rear right window also. 10 minute job for each. :D The drivers window was struggling for a couple of months, then the other night that dreaded 'bang' noise happened...same deal as what happened to you. The rear window on the same...

The FREE London to Cape Town Land Rover challenge. December 27th 2010

PMSL! Perhaps even turn it into a working holiday writing emails for those pesky Nigerian princes and merchant bankers...I hear they have millions they need taken back to western nations and willing to give you a cut! :p

The FREE London to Cape Town Land Rover challenge. December 27th 2010

Touche Booger! I know I'd be royally ****ed off being in a group with some numpty who's ill-prepared, out of their depth, and a vehicle not up to the task...it only takes one and everybody suffers. This sort of trip isn't one of those occasions to be baby-sitting someone...hence my...

The FREE London to Cape Town Land Rover challenge. December 27th 2010

To be perfectly honest, far more detail and preparation is needed to make this event safe for the entrants. I realise that you’re still in the planning stages, but if you’re serious about the event being successful and getting people on board, you will need to be far more transparent with...

    Discovery rear storage

*Just edited this to include some more info* :) Here's my drawer setup nearing completion. As you can see I've still got to carpet one side panel, finish off the edging around the entire unit (for protection and looks), fit the fridge-slide, paint the left panel where the fridge will sit, and...

    Discovery rear storage

I'm building mine up atm, and will put some pics up shortly to give you some inspiration. :) It took me ages to think things through properly and what materials to use. In the end I used aluminium square-section and joiners, with plywood skin covered in marine carpet and finished with...

The FREE London to Cape Town Land Rover challenge. December 27th 2010

I must admit that I'm rather concerned about lack of detail and preparation for this kind of trip. I realise it's for a good cause and all, but the deadlines and expectations are overly-ambitious. The organisers need to ensure that all participants have adequate 4x4 experience for starters...

    advice needed

I'd go the 300tdi mate...they're near axe-proof (which is why I bought one). If you shop carefully for a car, you'll find good examples out there, so don't pounce on the first one which seems a good deal. ;) Any problems can be fixed, but experience tells me that engine ones rape the wallet...

    Rear Storage Drawers

As some of you may know, I've been toying around with ideas for a rear drawer setup for my Disco for ages. I did a heap of different designs, never really settled one, and the project lingered...having obsessed over so many of the plans I'd drawn up earlier, I confused myself and couldn't make...

How many miles is a TDi300 good for?

The main thing to consider is the maintenance. Any vehicle, no matter how old or new, if mistreated and neglected will have issues. Look for one with a service history, has been treated well and from a responsible owner. Sometimes going a bit beyond your budget will work out cheaper. ;)...

    Disco 200tdi speakers

Front speakers MUST be shallow-mount 4" units. The rears are 4" and have sufficient space behind to accommodate speakers with a large magnet. You can also fit 5.25" speakers in there by bending the tabs back on the mounting bracket and drilling new holes...much better imo. ;)
