    Tyres What would you do?

An "H" tire allows you to do 210 km/h (130 mph). Since the top speed of the Freelander 2 is only 200 (petrol) or 181 (diesel), you should be fine. Personally, I'd replace them all, just to be sure. It's the only thing connecting your big vehicle to the road, so they're very important for your...

    My oh my.

You can order it here for 2.40 pound EGR Solenoid Control Valve Filter at www.rimmerbros.co.uk These guys ship to Belgium (at least they ship to Holland). It's probably even cheaper to have it shipped over from the UK than to buy at the dealership in Belgium. At least, for most parts it...

    Common fault approximate repair costs?

I did search. Best answer I came across was this link (with pictures and all). I'm sure there are some fine posts on this forum as well, but this was the easiest for me to link to.

    My oh my.

The engine is a BMW M47 engine. This might help the BMW engineers next time. But I wouldn't go to a BMW dealer for parts for your Freelander. Not everything is exactly the same. A regular Land Rover dealer should have the right parts (and probably costs less)... I think in Dutch it's just...

Info about how to test your VCU can be found here: VCU check - Http://freelandertech.info/ Fairly easy to do. :)

    Freelander suspension

If you want to make it look lower, just buy some 35mm wheel spacers. You won't actually lower the car, but because the wheels are futher apart, it'll look lower.

Being helpful, right. How helpful is it when someone decided on a Freelander to keep calling the car **** and the guy an idiot time and time again? It's one thing to mention it once or twice. You guys seem to have turned it into the national championships to repeat it at every change you get...

    Common fault approximate repair costs?

Aren't there any L series diesels around for you? They have a better reputation... I don't know about the HGF's. A new VCU is around 350 and can be put in pretty easily if you're handy. Checking it regulary should keep you out of problems for the VCU. Also, the exhaust is prone to rusting, so...

Sean, are you really trying to deny the fact that every time the word "freelander" pops up, you're around to tell people what a bad car it is? For someone who doesn't like Freelanders you're sure busy reading and replying about them. Closet case?

    1.8 petrol engine mods

Don't get me wrong, that's the one I'd go for as well. (and I did). But he asked for a petrol. He's been told it wasn't the best of engine, ok. But it seems like we have a broken record here. It's coming back and again...

    1.8 petrol engine mods

I don't know about you, but I didn't buy my Freelander because it was the most reliable car I could find. I bought it because I liked it. The OP want a petrol Freelander and asks how he can best prevent hgf. Then you come along and tells him it not the most reliable car in the world. Great, I...
