P38A Seized clutch or AC Compressor?

This happened after "high rev driving" trying to clean up my exhaust system due to failed emissions test. Am I looking at clutch alone or complete AC compressor?

And they were right! I edited the title...

P38A 4.6 FAILED MOT due to CO emissions

Oil service done last week. Bosch air mass sensor. Spark plugs and leads, possible... Tomorrow morning will test before I change anything else.

P38A 4.6 FAILED MOT due to CO emissions

My bad... Sincere apologies! 4.6 V8, 2000. BTW, here's the result of "high rev driving"...

P38A 4.6 FAILED MOT due to CO emissions

Hello again! Took the tractor for MOT inspection and it failed over CO emissions. Got 6.5 when the limit is 4.5. Replaced the air mass meter and the air filter, drove it for about 30Km on high revs. Tested again today, it only came down by 0.3, so now 6.2. HC level is ok. Any ideas before I...

    Low range not engaging

I apologize for the revival of the topic, but this weekend I got the chance to finally have a look at this... My first question is: My P38, being LHD, has the ECU on the passenger side or driver side? Under the driver side (so, left side), there's two CU's, one Bosch and the other I cannot see...

P38A Easiest way to lift 30mm on coils

Will I be able to fit 285/75 16's on my current set up?

P38A Easiest way to lift 30mm on coils

So, finally took the measuring tape out and I have 470 mm in the front and 465mm in the back, with full tank. I guess that's how it should be. As I said, I'll probably leave the springs alone and when changing I'll just fit a slightly higher tire. I'm running on 255/65 R16. Something like a 265/75?

P38A Easiest way to lift 30mm on coils

This guy says he installed Disco 2 rear coils on the rear and put the rear ones in the front. Looking at the picture, that would be more less what I was looking for...

Is there any way to check without removing them?

Rear... The problem is, it doesn't take much to hit the stoppers. If we're 5 adults in the car, that's already enough to hit the stopper.

P38A Easiest way to lift 30mm on coils

I'll measure the height on mine today and we'll go from there... If I find the height is lower than it should, where can I find the specs for the springs?

P38A Easiest way to lift 30mm on coils

Thanks, good advices are always useful. But I think everyone is picturing something way more than I intended to. I probably end up by making no changes at all... But we have to keep ourselves busy with something, right? ;)

P38A Easiest way to lift 30mm on coils

Can anyone tell me how height should it be from the ground to the center of the wheel arch on steel springs? That way I can measure mine and compare to know if it is at the correct height or if it is lower.

P38A Easiest way to lift 30mm on coils

That was the idea... Have more ground clearance and have more space for bigger tires. Also, the 3cm would be enough and I'm convinced it would not be too much for the drivetrain. Just about the same height as the EAS off road setting. I use the car on a daily basis but for short routes (60-70 Km...

P38A Easiest way to lift 30mm on coils

Would love to, unfortunately that's not an option I can afford. This whole debate of air vs spring is very old and the conclusion is always the same. So, lets leave that aside and think of a solution on current specs... I'm sure there's a small slice of P38 on springs owners that would...

P38A Easiest way to lift 30mm on coils

I saw those for sale around the web but as you said, it stiffens the suspension. It's hard enough as it is now... Not very fond of that option.
