philip, Just put my spare drive belt on which is rough sided on the top, and this has reduced the volume of the squeel no end, but its still there, going for a 20mile drive tommorow which may give it chance to 'bed in'?? thanks for tip pal.:D Bemmy

Haigy, it starts squeeling at approx 30mph, but just replaced the landrover drive belt with a rough sided one and its reduced the pitch / volume no end but still there.:rolleyes: Bemmy

seems a good suggestion, the one on is a genuine landrover one, have a spare one, (not continental) will try that one see how it goes, do you think maybe rubbing a bit of emery cloth over the drive belt wheel?

hopefully getting an alternator from co-pang-yang, this weekend, as the noise only kicks in at approx 30mph, i cant really drive it with no belt Ie: power steering etc.. will end up with more problems!!:( if that fails gonna borrow a drive belt tensioner cheers bemmy
