    HP pump leak

    The hp pump leaks when cold as a rule , when one of seals go , could not find the leak visually , local cowboy did mine a bosch service centre , source of replacement pump was dodgy , he had to replace it after 4 months :eek: which has been fine , touch wood since !

    I have not calibrated my scangauge for the mpg function , as for the map gauge up until the sensor was replaced read 0.0 to 15. , then I read on here ambient psi was 14.6 , and normal driving should show 17 psi + , so then realised the sensor must be duff , I use mph , volts , water temp and...

    Hi , cheapest I could find on flea bay , maltings off road doncaster , some were £78+ , I cleaned the gunk out of the intake manifold 2 to 3 years back and I reckon the map sensor was duff then , got a scangauge last november , good bit of kit , its been useful :)

    Fitted last night , took about 1 hour , went on a test run and found no change :eek: idle read 0.0 , foot down max 15 + psi :( this am checked my scangauge for fault codes , none pending , none found , there was a force clear prompt , so I did ....... jackpot the new sensor was working idle...

    I would block the air holes on the main tubes that allowed water in on mine , one on each side , if your new cradle has them , have recently repaired mine for the mot ! Posted pics earlier this month.

    Hi all just received a new map sensor to fit , cost £50 new with 2 year warranty , will fit and report findings , max boost pressure shown was 15 on my scangauge , but has been erratic !

    Could be diesel , leaking from the hp injector pump , that runs out from the lower pulley to the sump , hard to see actual leak source , the pump is behind the alternator , leaks when cold gradually gets worse !

    The design is very complex for what it is , poor quality steel used , the flat plates trap water also , good job the tank is plastic ! If you can make them I will defo have one :)

    Repaired in situ , with P38 filler , the paint is allegedly rust beater :D out of the three colours they do could only get beige !
