i think if system was still open loop the lamda would have failed on test due to incorrect air/fuel ratio as lamda detects the oxygen levels.i could be wrong though.:confused:

if it only failed on co then its probably the cat,if lamda passed on test it should be ok

if you have aircon the hose could well be the water drain for the heater box.all aircon systems have water drain pipes in the heater box so could be it has been draining inside instead of through the bulkhead.

dont know about mpg but engine smoother and less noisy.anyway why pay same price for supermarket fuel when top brand fuel is the same price?[atleast it is in my area.apart from tesco which is always 1p more than anyone else.]

although the fuel comes from the same places its the additves, or lack of,which is the difference between supermarket and top brand fuels.

i find shell to be the best on my 2004 td4,no diesel knock/rattle compared to the supermarket fuels,morrisons,asda and tesco only in my area,and tesco is always 1p more a litre than any of the others,even shell.as regards to v-power diesel ithink the only diference is extra cleaning aditves...

the td4 has 2 pumps,one lp pump electric,and a hp pump driven by the timing chain it is the hp pump i was thinking of as on the [ford]:) still could be same problem?

had this before on a , dare i say it [ford] engine.turned out to be seal on end of fuel pump leaking into crankcase.dont no if td4 pump is same.

wiper motor,had same problem with mine,the parking is built into the motor

sounds like sticky calliper leading to brake fade to me
