sorry but i dont think its a 4182 ,cos my 4182 is different to that 1) mines an alloy rocker cover,,,2) mine has a square breather box in middle of rocker cover, 3) different inlet manifold,,, 4)mine has a universal exhaust manifold,;ie 4 way manifold,,,,down,up,back,front.....dunno if this...

HE wont have any luck without the proper land rover diagnostic electronics,the motor trade prefer SNAP ON electronics cos they will do any car,apart from land rovers that is,my pal has tried 7 snap ons on my motor without any luck whatever,the rangie wont even reconise that they,r there...

PS i can recomend F E D injector cleaner ,its the only one ive used so far (cos i get it for nowt hhhhrrrrm) it does work ,you put it in a fairly full tank you think effin usless ,forget about it then two days later you think the motors going well i wonder whats up wiv it then you realise its...

i get just under 24mpg from my dse,mind you im a dead slow driver,32 on a run so its not too bad your figures,they,r only slow as you have found out+they will drink it if you push them hard.THE trip computers on p38 are effin usless mine says im getting 12.5 mpg ffs,its doing double that ,mind...

THIS WILL test your faith in motor vechicles ,they are notoriously unreliable but i love mine,best thing since sliced bread when they,r running but i would but yourself a bike as well .lol....dave

TAKE it to a place that rebuilds them,mine cost me £35 to be overhauled ,looks like its brand new........dave

changing down into first same rules apply ;ie,double declutching but by the time you do it you will be stopped anyway mate,if you are going dead slow you can get it in carefully but you will find theres no need to.....dave

:)PS it dont matter where the main lever is just be static and double the clutch ,more importantly take your time dont rush it they dont like it..dave:)

changing to low range you must be STOPPED otherwise you will damage the transfer box ,they were never designed for that,you can however change up from low to high if you are very care full and take your time,mind you its just as easy to stop because by the time you change up you,ll have stopped...

I had the same probs ,i found out that high wattage bulbs had been fitted by a previous owner,but still the h lamps where poor,i got over this problem by fitting a set of clear headlamps +high wattage bulbs from paddocks .i fitted a new dip switch as well but this time i wired it through 2...
