    Roofrack

Managed to pick up a decent roof rack off Gumtree. I'm thinking of put mesh inside, so all my camping gear doesn't fall through the gaps. Any suggestions on the type of mesh would be great. Job tonight is to attach my led lamps onto it. I'm using motorbike mirror clamps bolted to the lights to...

Freelander 1 Swapping td4 sport springs for original

Ah, that probably makes the job easier. As your just swapping both at the same time. Job for the next couple of weeks. I'm currently fixing one of the exhaust backbox hangers, snapped today when I was having fun in the snow. Rusted through.

Freelander 1 Swapping td4 sport springs for original

How much height if any would I gain by swapping out the springs on a sport model for standard springs? Anything else I would have to take into consideration while I'm doing it? Cheers

    Roof light wiring

Hi, I'm currently putting a roof light bar on my 3 door. Looking for some advice on the best was to run the power to it, up the window channel? Through the sunroof or between the hardtop and bodywork? Anyone had any leeks using the last two methods? I mocked up the light bar with two spots and 4...

Hey mate, I'm just down the road in West Lothian. I've got a cheapie elm Bluetooth obd reader and a copy of torque pro on ma phone which has pulled codes and also cleared them too. I could maybe nip past Tuesday / wed night at the earliest, how desperate are you to get it working? Either that or...

How long will you keep your freelander for?

As the title suggests, how long will you keep your freelander for? I reckon I can get another 10 years out of mine before parts become hard to come by. And as td4's are pretty cheep just now, it's maybe time to get a donor car to ravage for parts. What are other people's thoughts on this?

How hot should a diff get?

Hi, Recently I've had to replace my diff mounts again, I noticed I need a diff seal as there has been oil leaking. I just topped up the diff with oil and got back under to check if any was leaking out(a small amount). How hot should the diff get? Mine was warm after a 30 minute drive, just...

    Lumpy running, dead injector

Aye the head is a ****ty hardened plastic type thing me thinks!! I put a bit of wood over the engine and levered from there. Might have a go striping the old injector down as it's buggered anyways, so nothing to lose.

    Lumpy running, dead injector

It's the first diesel I've done any engine work on. Once you get the covers/boost hoses/manifold off you get a good view of the engine, and it's pretty straight forward. Took me about 2 1/2 hours, and its standing up for a change!!! Usually underneath the fecking thing
