No it's not that, I think 100amp will be fine.. it's just that for the minimal cost of the mount I can leave the original and add a second instead of replacing it and just chucking original in the shed where it will never see the light of day again!

Less strain on belts but surely more on the engine? The cost is minimal to have 2 instead of upgrade the current so thats what I am leaning towards..

I don't know, nearly all of that at once as it's for a overlanding vehicle so it will be getting hammered pretty hard every day (as will i :D) it's our only source for 2 of us to keep laptops, phones, cameras charged and we will have a fridge running constantly and occasional winch or air...

Just thinking I might upgrade my defender 300tdi 65 amp alternator to the disco one which is 100 amp as I will be running a fair bit of kit on it, winch, 2000w power inverter for laptop, fridge, lights, cb, cameras, phones an so on.. Anyway for a bit extra cost I could just run two alternators...
