    P38 2.5 dse lost power

I used acetone to clean the intercooler and paraffin to clean the intake manifold. You can get acetone from fibre glass roofing suppliers. Dont use acetone on the plastic intake manifold. If you are going to attempt the intercooler see this good luck

    P38 2.5 dse lost power

I recently cleaned out my Intercooler and intake manifold and you would be amazed at the difference it made to the performance. I also blocked the EGR with a steel penny and that gave me a bit more zip on the hills. The intake manifold was really ****ty and the vacuum port for the MAP sensor...

    Shock absorber removal HELP!!!!!

Duck Oil by Swarfega is good stuff, so is paraffin and old engine oil. Coka Cola is a pretty good releasing agent, especially for seized pistons, wouldn't drink it though :)

    Key Fob(Strange one )

Gazza, if you are not going to replace the receiver yet remove the blue wire from the existing receiver. That way you should at least avoid the problem until you get the new unit. good luck Bill

    Key Fob(Strange one )

Don't know mate. Be careful if you do go the ebay route. I have seen comments where some individuals have fitted the new one and put the old one back in its box and sold it as the new type. The new one has the 'CE' mark.

    P38 2.5 dse lost power

Check the vacuum pipe from the underside of the intake manifold to the MAP sensor (on top of the fuel filter housing). If the pipe has come off that could cause the loss of power.

    Hawkeye...Have you got one?

Hi Rasheed, I don't think Clive would appreciate being called 'my man'. It was not Clive I spoke to in fact, it was Alun, who has registered with the group. When I spoke to Alun it was just to make sure I was not ' treading on anyones toes' so to speak. He showed an interest and said he felt...

    Overheat Update!!

It is in Rave. You can get a new fan for a diesel from island-4x4. Britpart one is £58.33 + VAT and OEM one is about £100 + Vat. Not too sure about the one you have seen on ebay. Make sure you change the thermostat for an BMW one from the dealer. I bought a 'quality aftermarket' one that...

    MOT Changes next year.

I am over 65, drive a Range Rover and tow a caravan. I am also an ex diesel MECHANIC (not fitter). I drove 32 ton artics for a living so have plenty of experience. I do not ride the clutch, my caravan is not made from baked bean tins (most older people own more up to date caravans) and...

    Bearmach Hawkeye user group

Hello folks, I have had my Hawkeye for about a year now and still disappointed with the amount of instructions available. To help owners (including me) I have started to setup a user group here. Please feel free to take a look and register for membership. If you have any problems you could pm...

    Hawkeye...Have you got one?

Maybe a 'teach in' on the internet, every so often or perhaps when new updates are added. I think the lack of downloadable or printed instructions is the biggest problem with the system. I want to use the answers from this survey to persuade Clive Myall at Bearmach to improve after sales...

    Hawkeye...Have you got one?

There has been a lot of discussion about Hawkeye vs BBS and one thing that seems to have come up from that is the lack of a decent instruction manual (for P38) for the Hawkeye. The Unit is aimed at the private user not at commercial repairers so surely should have some instructions on use...

    Hawkeye V BBS FCR

Paul, That's what I suggested above. I think you suggested that at the beginning of this thread. At the time I had not visited the BBS website so did not know they claim that The Faultmate FCR is designed and manufactured specifically for Reading and Clearing all possible Fault Codes. Bill
