    Returning to std springs

Got a few jobs done on my 90, been a long road and still near the start. Seats in, very comfy. Exhaust done, what a faf, didn’t fit properly. A few mods to make it fit. Disco2 shifter fitted. Drivers door fitted, needs painting. Today’s job was to swapping back to standard height springs from 2”...

    Returning to std springs

It’s fun and loud. Needs a bit of tlc. Just in the process of fitting a stainless sports exhaust. Moving the gear shifter to a better position. It came with rx8 heater electric seats that need fitting. Half way there with them. Doors are shot so got some series doors to go on. Found a military...

    Returning to std springs

All I agree it’s all down to taste, I’m not doing anything radical. Over the years I’ve owned lots of different land rovers, range rovers, a disco and a few swb series. This is a v8 auto 90. It was built by the previous owner from an 1990 Range Rover. He did a nice job. My plan is to take the...

    Returning to std springs

Agreed big silver wheels with low profile tyres on a defender is a no no. I want either black 20s with a larger profile or maybe some 18” p38 twin bars with a 60 or 70 profile I would like to stay around the 31” rolling radius Early days yet I need to drop the 90. Dave

    Returning to std springs

My 90 is currently fitted with 235 85 r16 which I like the look of. But with the lift they don’t fill the arches. I have just got some wheel adapters so I can fit the newer landrover wheels. Looking round for some 20s Dave

    Returning to std springs

Interesting. As you say lift kits aren’t cheap, lowering is also expensive. Do you think it would be ok just to swap out the springs for standard without effecting the way it drives?

    Returning to std springs

Good question, one reason is I’ve got short legs, I prefer the lower look. I never go off road. To be quite honest I would like to lower it, what am I crazy? The previous owner told me he had corrected the castor angle.

    Returning to std springs

all I’m after some advise, My 90 has a 2” lift kit and I want to return it to standard height. Problem is it has been fitted with castor correction swivels at the front and cranked arms at the back. Can I just swap the springs to standard or do I need to swap everything? Cheers Dave

    obd1 or 2

Not all of the scanners work on land rover. Let me know which one you get and how well it works. I want want for my P38, but to do what I want to do you need a rovacom or similar.

    obd1 or 2

I think its OBD2. Landrovers software is slightly different to the norm. Are you after a scan tool to perform diagnostics?

    V8 Engine swap

Has anyone put a v8 and auto box in a 2.5TD 90? I have been told you need to cut the engine mounts off the chassis and relocate them. What woud a good used 2.5TD engine and gear/xfer box be worth? Thanks Dave

    Soft top

I want to take the roof off my 90 van, the problem is where do the seatbelts connect to when the roof is off? I was looking at the safety devices soft top roll bar with the seatbelt mounts, but I have been told that they have gone under. would like a roll bar that fits under the roof with seat...

Buying and fitting rear sliding windows

There was an article in one of the landy mags, unfortunately I dont recall which one. Looks easy enough. All you would need is a scriber, a drill, a jig saw, and some pop rivets. Oh and a pop rivet gun of course. I am thinking of doing it to mine.

    Power steering advice needed

Have you got oversized tyres? this can cause what feels like a tight spot, does it happen when turning left or does it occur either direction. has there been any adjustments made to the steering box? If it only occurs in one direction I would look at the knuckle joints.
