Thanks, it wasn't the brake disks that need changing just the pads. I think that the things I referred to as 'disks behind the pads' which are rusty are stone guards or something similar. So does anyone have any ideas on costs to replace front pads and disk guards?

Hi all, My 99 Freelander mk1 petrol needs new brake pads plus the disk behind the hub which protects the brakes is also very rusty and needs replacing. What is a reasonable price to pay at a local mechanic......not main dealer obviously. Thanks.
