Just for reference Griff, do you know if the tow straps are technically safer upon failing than say a rope is? They seem as though they may hold together a bit better perhaps?

It's a very good plan (as always with greenlaning) to go in 2's. If you get proper stuck, then you have back-up to pull you out.

Good advice. Tyres make all the difference here. Also, you have better grip in fresh snow than ice so if you can straddle any pre-made tracks to drive in fresh snow / deep snow this is preferable. You don't always need to give it the beans either. Just take your time and engage difflock and...

What have I learned? Getting somewhere is part of the journey and Land Rovers will eat quite literally anything up. Oh and Defender heating is like having someone gently blow cold air on you.

Anyone know if I mount a 256 /70 R17 wheel on these, will it have to be backwards? Suspect so as wheel nut lugs don't seem massively long.
