    Itchy's brake issues part two

There is one flexi on the rear, near the diff, that serves both rear wheels.

    Itchy's brake issues part two

So I got the brakes bled and took Itchy for the MOT today (only one page of failure notes, not as bad as expected). I was a little late and had missed my spot but they had another in an hour. I was going to drive up to town for lunch but the brakes had locked on - it wouldn't roll down the slope...

    Bleeding the bleeding brakes!

The old one's fine 'cos it was me mum pumping the pedal while the system was pressurised that sorted it and got them pesky bubbles out!

    Bleeding the bleeding brakes!

DONE IT!!! Reet chuffed, me. Fitted the new master cylinder what I picked up this morning. The old one was actually fine - there is a little bit of back pressure through the reservoir, not a lot. So I've got a spare for my expedition box! I connected up the pressuriser thingamajig, pressurised...

    Bleeding the bleeding brakes!

Some higher being really dun't want me driving my Landy... I finally found a motor factors who said they could get a master cylinder for me, costing a bit over the odds and £60 plus VAT (the OEM spec one from Famous Four is £35+) and it would be there at half eleven. "Great" thought I, I...

Another master cylinder it is then. Now, where can I get one off the shelf in Dorset then?

    Bleeding the bleeding brakes!

It has been anything but, James. But that's more to do with parts failing and incorrect hoses supplied. Been a catalogue of clusterfecks. In your esteemed opinion - does pressure coming out of the reservoir (out on the pedal push and back in on release) point to a faulty master cylinder? I've...

    Bleeding the bleeding brakes!

AAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrggghhh! Feckety feck and friggity frig. Pressurised the system to 10psi and it held steady for a couple of hours. Put about 2L through the system under pressure, no more bubbles. Adjusted the adjusters out and still no pedal. When the...

    Bleeding the bleeding brakes!

I'm trying the slowly slowly method of gravity bleeding. Got the back jacked up high and level, the NSR rear has been open for about half an hour, I'm going to another half hour then do the OSR etc. I wouldn't go as far as fitting valves, that seems a bit daft to me...

    South Dorset Green Laning

I've still got to get me brakes bled but will be out sometime soon. The weather forecast is quite favourable for the next week or so and the ground really seems to be drying out a bit up here in norf Dorset so maybe some laning will be on the cards in the next coupla weeks....

    Bleeding the bleeding brakes!

Don't understand how you'd get feed into the lower cylinder on the front, surely the flexi ain't long enough... Cams are all good, bought replacements but didn't fit them as the existing ones are fine. Backplates seem right enough...
