Is a V8 on LPG really as 'economical' as a diesel?

Hi peeps, I run a D2 on LPG but it only does about 5 miles each way ferrying the wife to work and 5 miles home again so it doesn't really get fully warm. It returns about 11.5mpg doing this and at 69.9p/l that means about 30p per mile. Work in to that the added cost of unleaded while it warms up...

    3.9 V8 Disco, 10 MPG??

Getting about 11.5 from mine on gas but it only does short journeys ferrying the missus to work and back. Best is 16 on a run to North Wales.

    ABS Amigo

I suppose the cons are that it will only read the ABS fault codes. For a bit more money you could buy HawkEye/Nanocom (whichever is your prefrence) and do MUCH more.

    3.9 engine pics please......

Here you go. Hope sthese help although its a 4.0 in a D2 and I dont know if there will be any difference IMAG001 shows the heater pipes along the top of the right hand rocker cover going through the bulkhead to the heater. There is a "T" piece in each one (light grey) to supply the vaporiser...

    plug lead swap

Cheers Nick, will you let me know what you think. Took the lamda sensors out today and cleaned the tips and harness plugs. When I fired it up and plugged my HawkEye in both banks were trimming nicely and no cylinders were misfiring. Hopefully a sooty sensor was confusing the ECU into...

Three Amigos and wheel bearings - TD5

Once again I agree but I can't help thinking this guy has missed something and is now stabbing in the dark. Without seeing the car and diagnostics and testing the switch I obviously can't be sure but I suspect the modular circuit board. A similar thing happened to mine, I did the wiring mod...

Three Amigos and wheel bearings - TD5

I agree the codes are accurate however it will only point to an electrical failure of the SVS. It won't tell him if its actually the SVS thats failed or the signals to the SVS. If he is not familiar with the failure of the circuit board on the modulator that supplies the SVS, he will change the...

Three Amigos and wheel bearings - TD5

I agree. Shuttle valve switch is the usual culprit. The car is safe. To drive, just be aware that You have no ABS.

Three Amigos and wheel bearings - TD5

I know about the service bulletin regarding the sensors, but I was thinking more of the bearing. If the bearing is not serviceable and a new hub is required, it would come complete with an ABS sensor mounted correctly. Or is the bearing now serviceable also?

Three Amigos and wheel bearings - TD5

I was under the impression that hub bearings on a D2 were not serviceable, that you had to change the whole hub and an ABS sensor was included or have I been misled?
