    Sunroof will not stop

Swapping the motors takes approximately 20 minutes. Two minutes to unbolt the in-place motor, 16 minutes to scrabble around in the footwell and under the seats hunting for the bolts which fell down there during the removal process, and two minutes to bolt in the replacement. Good plan on...

    Sunroof will not stop

Good tip, thanks. I did try running the motor when it wasn't connected to the sunroof and it just ran and ran. Do I have two knackered motors then?

    Sunroof will not stop

Tried the one touch from fully open, goes whirrrr, closes itself and tilts up without stopping. Also does the same with lazy closing from the key. Stumped.

    Sunroof will not stop

The sunroof on my P38 wouldn't stop, as in it went straight from closed to tilt in one movement with no pause. This meant actually closing the sunroof took a bit of careful stopping and starting. No bother I thought, I've seen threads about this, I'll get a new motor, which is what I did...

    P38 on Black Hurricane Alloys.

I've got some gun metal grey/black-ish hurricanes on my P38. Not really my cup of tea so I'd happily do a swap with someone for some normal hurricanes. Anyway, I don't think black wheels are wrong per se, but they do make a statement. I'm loving the Linley but those wheels still look mostly...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

:D He's going to grow up associating the words "Range Rover" with absent father! Admittedly I was only in the garage but even so, I must have spent 12 hours this weekend faffing about.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

This weekend I fitted chrome rings to my instruments, plus restored my very knackered steering wheel. https://www.dropbox.com/s/9hgpruvg4yie5oq/2013-05-11%2022.57.58.jpg I also took the console mostly to bits and did a thorough clean of the associated components...

    P38 Sat Nav , YIB000110 / YIB000050

Lazarus like, I'm resurrecting this thread. I've got a 2000 P38 Vogue with sat nav. The screen is the usual type in later P38s, with the knob and buttons, and identical (visually at least) to the screens in the very last P38s up to 2002. Now this is where it gets sticky. The non...

    Finally got my P38

Gmfromleeds you have a pm. Thanks for the safety tip datatek... One bit of good news is that a bulb that last night that was apparently blown is absolutely fine today. Maybe if I leave it long enough my Rangey will fix its other issues? ;)

    Finally got my P38

I'm very pleased to announce that I've got my Range Rover, fulfilling a dream I've had for years and years. It's a P38 2000 model Vogue with all the usual bits, plus LPG. https://www.dropbox.com/s/6su86lu9ov6nme6/RR5.jpg I got a very good deal and I'm confident (as much as anyone can be)...

    Renaming required, I think

Whilst no huge fan of the Evoque I'm having to laugh at some of the half legible replies on here wailing that the primary reason it's not a Range Rover is price. I doubt there's many on this forum who can spank 40 grand on a car, I know I'd like to be but I'm not. Instead I'm looking at buying...

    Renaming required, I think

I'm sure the Evoque is a "good" car. Is it a Range Rover? I'm not so sure, but then I don't think a Cayenne is a real Porsche either. The fact remains however the brand can lose a bit of credibility while sales go through the roof, thus paying for the more credible 'core' products. Just...

    P38 running boards question

Thanks for the replies chaps. The P38 I went to see today ended up being a total dog (non functional EAS, duff hvac, mayonnaise in the oil cap etc etc) so it was a moot point in the end. The hunt continues!

    P38 running boards question

Going to look at a P38 today which has running boards fitted. Handy but not necessarily my cup of tea. Question is... If I remove them will big holes be left anywhere a la light guards? Or is all the fitting gubbins under the car out of the way and thus invisible when you take them off?

    2001 P38 backfiring

What about these guys? Can't vouch for their service but I test drove a 4.6 there a few months back and they seemed pleasant enough. Woodside Garage (Maulden) Ltd - Used Land Rover Specialists

    Blender motor blues

Great post and thanks for taking the photos. As a prospective P38 buyer blend motors are one of the things I'm concerned about, and now I at least know you don't have to rip the entire dash to pieces to poke about with them. I used to have a Jeep Grand Cherokee and replaced the blend doors...

To Dubai or not to Dubai- that is the question!

I'm not sure of your family circumstances so am not sure if you'd be taking a wife and offspring, but I've always thought Hong Kong would be a good place to be an ex-pat. It's very British in places (three pin sockets, road names you'd recognise, etc), but also exotic and foreign enough to be...

Bought EAS Cable Software, But havent got a clue!

Hi Colin, I downloaded this software earlier today and whilst I don't have the cable (or a Range Rover for that matter), as others have said the instructions it comes with are very comprehensive and pretty easy to follow. PM me if you want me to email over what I've got.
