My 2000 td4 has been run for miles with the cover removed.. The rear cover fixings are via 2 nuts screwing onto studs that are passed through 2 rubber grommets in the cover itself...... The front fixing is via a philips screw..

Yes,, i've had problems with rough running and bad pinking noises when cold. someone told me it needed new injectors.. i purchased 4 from ebay, but the car now runs poorly and a 'mechanic' said that the injectors need to be setup,, I believe he is incorrect.

My 2001 TD4 has a pump in the tank and one on the N/S inner wing.. I tested by disconnecting the tank pump power plug.. The car started and drove fine!
