I've driven it and it seems ok but it has a very sparce service history. Like the look of the facelift especially the interior........ Having said that I've got heated leather / suede seats from a 2006 in mine!! The things I'd miss are the Powerfold mirrors and the fbh. Recently serviced...

Got my yr 2000 td4 and am reasonably happy with it....... But........ A friend a work has decided to sell his 2005 facelift td4 and has offered it me at a reasonable price. Do I just keep mine, better the devil you know...... Or do I sell and throw some extra money into the 2005???? I...

Thanks Nodge That makes sense........... The inner pads on both sides were heavily worn at an angle ...... Not sure why freeing of the guide pin made me loose all my pedal though........ Chris

Tannaton Not sure if it's correct but it worked for me.......... Set up the foot brake adjustment on the rears manually ie moved the adjusters so they were just free from drums. Then set up hand brake using adjuster under centre console....... So that shoes were just about touching on ist...

That's what happened to mine........ Think it was cable related. Didn't investigate as I managed to get a complete unit from a local breakers..... At the time figured that was the least hassle Chris

I know what you mean......... Sunroof went on my first freelander many years ago....... Fixed it which was a pain. 7 months later it went again so resorted to the silicone and fuse out method Chris

Yes I remember years ago fixing the exhaust on an rs1600i with a holts exhaust bandage ...... You soaked it in water then wrapped it round and started car to heat it up....... It lasted longer than the rest of the exhaust !,, Chris

Silicone it up and take out the fuse !!!!

I'd need a lot of exhaust wrap !!!! It's not blowing at all but the outer skin is starting to come away done its whole length....... Clamped it on with some jubilee clips for now Chris

Yes...... The one I ordered came with new rubbers and some grease. The pins may have been an issue for the previous owner at sometime cos the shorter pins were missing the plastic sleeve thing ......... If you know what I mean Chris

Is there a how to for diff seals ?? Seem to have developed a leak from the drivers side shaft since doing my diff mounts

Is anyone running their td4 without a centre box ? If so any running issues or mot issues etc Just that mine is on it's way out and given that it's on the section with the cat it's not cheap........ Was going to replace it with just a straight piece if pipe if it doesn't cause any issues...

Well I'm still baffled by the symptoms I had and how I came to get them but all is sorted now. Got up early this morning, fitted a new set of front pads, and found that one of the pins on the passenger side was also siezed. The new pins haven't arrived yet so cleaned up all the old ones again...

On mine, a 2000 td4 , one is longer and straight and the other is shorter and has a recessed or stepped section. Just looked on the auction sites and it would seem there are 2 different types...... On set has them all the same, the other has them like mine Chris
