    Gearbox replacement list??

I'd change the gearbox & engine mounts whilst it's all apart as well.

    Removing shocks and turrents

Just buy a couple of turret rings ready just in case. They aren't expensive.

    Removing shocks and turrents

Yes but when the bolts on the turret rings shear off you need to pop the spring out to replace anyway. It's a piece of pi#s to get the front spring in and out.

    LT77-jamesmartian?

The point is there isn't any oil getting to the output shaft splines hence why they wear. Are you sure it's the gearbox and not the A frame ball joint or some other play in the drive train?

    200tdi Engine Mount change

It's juddering in all gears on take up, it's definitely clutch related and definitely gets better after a long drive. New mounts have arrived today so will fit them at some point and see if that cures it. What's the best way to get the gearbox mounts off in situ?

    200tdi Engine Mount change

It does get better once warmed up, but rechecked all fluid levels bang on and no oil around the bell housing or drain hole.

    200tdi Engine Mount change

No idea tbh, was fitted by the previous owner but checked when I had my gearbox replaced and all looked new.

    200tdi Engine Mount change

I've done a search and can't find an answer. I'm getting some clutch judder on my 200tdi (genuine Defender), clutch is fairly new, no signs of clutch fluid loss and no signs of any oil from the flywheel area. So I'm gonna change the engine and gearbox mounts. Ordered some OEM ones, see if...

    Additional lights.

Mine are all wired off a separate circuit (all fused) connected directly to the battery. I have 4x55w front spots and 2x55w rear spots. No issues running off my main (and only) battery

    Defender front wheel bounce

Mole grips and an impact gun and mine came off easy on my 92 200tdi. Make sure you get new turret rings tho, no matter how careful you are one of the bolts will snap off!

    Water coming in!

The only place mine leaks now is the bottom of the doors. The passenger side isn't too bad but it's pouring in on the drivers side, and I've tried everything I can think of!

    Water coming in!

I've done everything to mine, all new seals, fitted and sealed the plastic to the doors properly, sealed the gutters, caulked all the gaps, everything the ingress manual said and it still comes in at the bottom of the doors. Most leaks are gone tbh but the doors seem impossible to seal. If...

    Water coming in!

No matter what you do they leak. Welcome to Landrover ownership!

    Newbie, gearbox/clutch/tbox advise

Defenders all clunk, but if it's especially bad as said above remove the PTO cover and check the splines on the gearbox output shaft, they wear on early Defenders. If they are worn it's new or recon gearbox time. And yes do the clutch whilst it's all apart.

    lights

Is yours a 200tdi or older? They have the old lucas bullet connectors, not plugs like later ones. I imagine you can buy a loom end that connects to the Landys loom with the correct plug for the lights. Or send em back for the correct earlier type. And if your bulb holders are ok why not...

    Battery impact wrench, which one?

Mines the battery powered one. The only bug bear is it only has one battery. But as it only takes 15 minutes to charge that isn't too much of an issue. And for £140 it's shifted every bolt on my Landie so far...

    BT Tactical responce Landy

We have Virgin Media so no issues with distance from the exchange, etc. Although the WiFi on the router is a bit rubbish

    Battery impact wrench, which one?

I've got the Clarke impact wrench. Shifts up to 450nm and for the price a great bit of kit!

    Vinyl Wrap?

Is that the matt black one? Looked good. The only thing is as with every Defender it has a few dings and dents, so was thinking of a wrap that would disguise them This is my Defender: And I was thinking of something like this: Cool or ****e?

    Contaminated Coolant

Is this on a TDCI? The oil cooler blew on my dad's transit (under warranty luckily) ford had it for two weeks flushing it through and replaced every rubber hose in the cooling system, even then some oil still floated to the top in the expansion tank after a few miles. Just had to scoop the...
