Well went out and changed the O Ring. Not convinced it's stopped leaking as the plate had grooves worn into it. Also I think my radiator is leaking at the bottom, grrrrrrr!!!

Right just Googled it, it's the timing advance mech and it has an o ring there. If I unbolt the plate will anything ping out everywhere or am I ok to remove it? I've had the Landie running for a while sat underneath and it is definitely leaking from here

This plate on the side of my diesel pump is where it's leaking diesel from. What is behind this plate? I have a full seal kit for the pump, if I remove the plate is the seal easy to replace?

Yep piece of **** from underneath. Did the seal, bearing and shaft on my transfer box from underneath.

My standard 200tdi will easily do 80 and is quite stable at that speed but is bloody noisy. On the motorway I stick to 70 in it and it's happy at that speed.

It's done a couple of thousand miles since I changed the oil and it hasn't used any.

The oil in it is exactly what Landrover specify though? I haven't got the money for a full pump refurb which it might or might not need. £18 for a gasket set I'm happy to risk it to change the O Ring, if it works great if it doesn't then the pump needs a refurb and I'll have to fork the money...

Had a good look over it yesterday and I've noticed the injector pump is leaking quite badly. Looks like it's where the connector black joins the pump body. I'm assuming if this is leaking, when cold it could be letting a little air in causing the smoke issues. I see the O Ring is easy to...

I have a 200tdi pas pump. It has a weep on the front pulley but was working ok.

You can get agreed value insurance policies that should your Landie get stolen guarantees what you will get paid out. I have it on my Landie. It's basically a classic 4x4 policy. As I said mine has an agreed insurance valuation of £5.5k on it. This is mine

My 1992 genuine 200tdi with 79k on, good chassis reasonable bodywork has an agreed insurance value of £5.5k on it.

I have the same issue. See my thread in the Defender bit. I think it's a combination of 10w40 semi synthetic oil and the fact my 92 200tdi only has 79k on it and doesn't get used enough.

Personally I'd go for the Defender. It'll hold its value better.

How far have you actually got with it? Is it a rolling chassis, bulkhead issue sorted, or is it a pile of bits still?
