    Glass tint question

Another day, another P38 challenge. Recently while mowing my lawn I can only assume what must have been a stone flew up and cracked the rear quarter light window of my P38. Pretty bad luck all things considering, but there you go. I phoned my insurance, paid my £80 windscreen excess, and...

"Range Rover" boot text, where to buy?

My P38 didn't have any Range Rover lettering on the boot when I bought it, and the chrome letters I got from eBay are a bit bling. Does anyone know where I can get 'proper' Range Rover lettering? I want it to look original ideally.

Thinking of getting a p38 but which one?

Interestingly, there were plans to put a BMW V12 (from the 750 and 850) into the P38, but development effort was spent on the forthcoming L322 instead. That V12 put out 280ish bhp if memory serves and would have made the P38 a properly quick bit of kit. We can only ponder what a V12 P38 would...

Thinking of getting a p38 but which one?

The 4.6 is hardly a fire breathing monster. To my mind it merely provides an appropriate amount of oomph that any luxury car should have. In no way could it be called 'fast', in any normal sense of the word. Given that the 4.6 is acceptable, the 4.0 feels a bit underpowered and the diesel...

    engine re-builds ??????????

It was a brand new Hella(?) part from Island 4x4 if memory serves. Those prices include VAT. There were cheaper options but I went for the more expensive brand I recognised.

    Heater Remote Control Programming

+1 Up badging is a pretty naff thing to do. M3 badges on a 318i anyone? Be proud of your excellent Range Rover as it is! :)

    engine re-builds ??????????

Fitting the condenser is pretty easy too, even I (nearly) managed it. On mine one of the AC pipes had corroded itself to the condenser, hence I had to get a new one of those too. About £130 for the condenser and £50 for the pipe. Mines being regassed on Monday, fingers crossed.

Thinking of getting a p38 but which one?

Welcome. This is a topic that comes up regularly so searching is your best bet. My P38 is my daily driver too but there is another car in the household. I'd not feel at all comfortable with a P38 as my only vehicle. Good luck finding what you want, remember the search option and welcome...

    lack of power :(

*cough* But the diesels are so reliable... *cough* ;) Sorry, couldn't resist. :D

    Help for a newby.

First things first the diesel is slow, but depending on what you're used to or your driving style this may not trouble you. I can't speak to reliability vs V8s with ownership authority but have a look through posts on here to get a feel for what people are saying. As you can see, no P38 is...

They can go off road?!? You mean pavements, right? :)

lookjng for a new p38 advuce sought

There is no safe maximum I'm afraid. A P38 with 30k that hasn't turned a wheel in the past 2 years is going to be a worse bet than a well maintained car the same age with 130k. These vehicles are so old now each one needs to be judged on its own merits. That said, only buy one with issues...

Bluetooth pairs to iPhone but disconnects when answered

Ok, where to begin? For starters, popularity is no indication of quality, otherwise The Sun would be a better quality paper than the FT. Apple don't have the most open software development environment, but hey, I'm a consumer, what do I care? Also, surely launching a range of complimentary...

Agree 100%. It's a shame but threads like this are so predictable. The chips on the shoulders of some posters here can surely be seen from space...

Bluetooth pairs to iPhone but disconnects when answered

*sigh* Okay, I'll bite. So why are iPhones so rubbish? What would you recommend instead (assuming you're not going to say just something that just makes calls and nothing else as smartphones are for the sort of people who like V8 Range Rovers)?

No electrical feed to EAS system, any ideas?

Fair enough that you're letting go of your P38, though to my mind you've thrown time and cash at it for the 3 months you've had it, hopefully it should be a bit more reliable now for a while? Totally agree re quality though. My other car is an E46 BMW Touring, and while clearly not as...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Fitted a new air con hose after my local garage fitted the new condenser. Theoretically now all I need to do is get the bad boy regassed then I can enjoy air con for the one remaining warm day this year. :) On a more infuriating and ire inducing note, I was mowing the lawn next to my gravel...
