Range Rover Sport Grill on P38

Respectfully to all concerned, I agree with those who think 'Sport' grilles spoil the looks of a P38 rather than enhance it. To my mind it's similar to sticking M Power or AMG badges on your bog standard BMW or Merc, not really very cool. Just my opinion of course, others will disagree.

Teak cargo area in a p38

Sounds intriguing to me! I'd imagine the cherry flooring would be quite red whereas the "wood" in my P38 is very brown, but you'll be a better judge of colour match than I will. One suggestion I have if you're making up a new floor is to include some eyelets and/or a luggage net. I put...

Book and warning triangle in heater panell

:) I can relate to that Taximan. Mine hasn't always had the full compliment of screws where you expect them. I've been replacing them as I go. Knowing something is done up tight is always satisfying!

Book and warning triangle in heater panell

Respectfully, are you sure? I did this same procedure last weekend and the HEVAC and radio are both firmly secured to the centre console. The HEVAC unit alone has four screws holding it in solidly. Perhaps some of your screws have gone walkabout over the years?

    Lpg v8 coolant level

I know it's not what you want to hear, but what you're describing sounded like the sort of issues I had with my old Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 V8 - which eventually turned out to be a head gasket failure. With the engine running and the top off the expansion tank, does the coolant bubble? A few...

    Rear wiper, unstoppable

Ok, thanks for that alarming nugget of information Irishrover! In 10 days of ownership I have seen an erroneous bulb failure message once, and the aforementioned rear wiper issue. That's all though and everything else runs nicely. If a 'faulty' BECM is behind these issues then frankly I could...

    Rear wiper, unstoppable

Saint, your knowledge astounds me and your name is accurate! This cable of which you speak... Where is it? If it's something at the wiper end of the equation I'm comfortable snipping it. If on the other hand it's a seat off BeCM job, my enthusiasm wanes to say the least!

    Rear wiper, unstoppable

Yes, it will stop the rear wiper... However I already have a solution for stopping the rear wiper. All things being equal though, I'd like to fix the wiper - hence the post. :)

    Rear wiper, unstoppable

The fuse for the wiper? Will this fix the problem? Seems unlikely...

    Rear wiper, unstoppable

This presumably is the worst case scenario... I guess the way to test this would be to replace the motor with a known good one and see if the problem recurrs? It's worth mentioning that (as far as I can figure out), everything else seems to work ok, so if it is a BeCM problem, it's extremely...

    Sunroof will not stop

That's very kind of you to offer sassanach, thank you very much. :) As it turns out, I've now got an offer of assistance from a local fellow P38 victim/owner, but your offer is truly appreciated.

Thanks for the follow up wammers. It runs continuously.

    Best place to buy paint?

My P38 is java black. The wing mirror housings are in basically good nick but since I'm picky about such things I'd like to sand them smooth and respray them. Plus I'm bound to find something else to paint (door handles maybe?). My question is, where's the best place to buy the paint? Will...

Yes. Stalks have been moved to all points. Still wipes with the enthusiasm of a happy dog.

    Rear wiper, unstoppable

Another day, another item on my P38 snagging list. This one concerns the rear wiper... The previous owner had disconnected it as it wouldn't stop running. I found this out for myself when I reconnected the motor, operated the motor using the appropriate stalk, watched it wipe the rear...

    Sunroof will not stop

Ok. I'm going to admit defeat until I can try a known good motor. I've run it back and forth, forth and back, held it, tried to set it, used colourful language and hand signals, and it's still not working properly. All in the rain too so now I have a wet head. The brummies who designed this...
