    On doing the belt and rotating the crank two turns to check noticed belt on fip was over the front edge of the pulley, ( this is with the modified crankshaft pulley) any way re adjusted tension from 10 lbs per foot to 20 lbs per foot still the same after 2 turns . Put a straight edge across...

    Cheers Yep I've order a point type off Draper only 17 quid just abit dubious as will only be trying to tension to 10 lbs per foot on a nearly 0.5m wrench , shud be like measuring wiv a bit of wet string . Probably over thinking the job thou

    Hi , Currently doing the timing belt on my 300 tdi . According to the manuals u set the tension using a dial torque wrench which ain't cheap , considering using a point torque wrench. Anyone got any tips thoughts on the subject . Cheers in advance

    Nope , Just said the metal bush is the correct length and we will send you new poly bushes , interested to see what pops through the letter box as the original bushes where 2.5mm u/size and you would think the manufacturing process would be injection moulding which produces tight tolerances...

    I've emailed my conclusion to powerflex I'm awaiting their reply . I am prepared to ask landrover to give there opinion as a independent specialist if necessary obviously at my or powerflex's cost.

    On closer inspection with the trailing arm back on the bench the inner bush protrudes 2.26mm out from the poly bushes with every thing correctly assembled??? Which to me suggests there will always be a gap as this protrusion will note allow the outer discs to press against the poly bushes...
