hi people, when my disco is moving i can hear a metallic,ringing sound from underneath, it doesn`t happen all the time and i don`t really notice any effects on steering or suspension. i have looked underneath checked the props and can`t find anything that looks loose or worn the front prop was...

i just had the exact same problem, keep topping the system up from the bleed screw on the top of the thermostat housing, worked for me you have to fill it from yhe highest point on your engine untill it is squirting out a little,

i have a 96 300 tdi disco and on occasions it refuses to start, all the dash lights are on,and i can hear the relays behind the glovebox clicking but the starter doesnt budge. usually it just starts if i keep trying sometimes it can take 20 mins of key turnig other times just 2 turns of the key...

what do es any 1 else think? i thought it was a bit of a deal myself

my cousins disco alarm comes out of the horn but mine has its own seperate horn/speaker

after many airlocks changing therm and waterpump i have now found out my heads warped(no pun intended)and since it has a few othr niggley problems have decided rather than sort it out i`d go for a differant engine.so i have found this geezer in stoke who has fully rebuilt 300 tdi`s with new...

right i finally released the airlock out of my coolant and heater matrix,fitted a new thermostat,a new water pump and got my cousin to test the gases in the header tank .......but there is still some serious gurgling,bubbling and pressure that spits a few litres out if you release the cap on...

hi does anybody know which hose is the one leading to the heater matrix on a 300tdi? is it the one which runs down along the top of the head?:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

ta mate, had a look under hood seems that the bung on the therm housing has been replaced at sometime with a rusty rounded nut(nice) would the heater matrix air lock make my engine overheat?also if i take the therm out as a tempory fix will this harm the engine? :confused:
