opened the bonnet to find a very pretty silvery mist all over the o/s of the engine...just like someone had sprayed silver christmas paint all over..:)..BUT...unfortunately it was metal filings from a failed belt tensioner pulley bearing!:mad:!just ordered a new one from rimmers...should be here...

mt td4 freelander chucks out a lot of black smoke when you kick it down and accelerate hard...no power loss...goes well...just smoke.its had a full service with oil air and feul filters changed,turbo pipes look ok..where do i look next?

fitted my bell eng recon vcu and new bearings today....90% of the transmission noise has gone...gonna run it and keep my fingers crossed till the warm weather returns.:)

i have a pair of winter tyres on my rover 45...on the rear in the summer and up front in the winter....the tyres perform great in cold/snow/ice...i hardly need a 4x4 in the winter.

might be something simple broken and fell into the crownwheel and pinion and fired out the casing. i have just had to change a vw gearbox after a selector pin broke and fell into the diff with similar results.....also had a pug 306 throw a bearing and the bits were fired out the casing into the...

yes....i put a digimaf box and peirburg maf on my rover 45 recently..wow...what a difference!!!amazing improvement...to the extent that the clutch has now started slipping.:(..but it has done 121000 miles on the origional clutch. im just putting a ronbox on my td4 freelander...i hope the result...

i bought a spare set of 15 inch alloys and put marshall kl71s on for winter/offroad use....just did 650 mile round trip to scotland towing a caravan then did a weekend offroading. they are a little noisy on the motorway but handle well and offroad they did very well...i was only beaten by lack...

all is well...its working....pilot error.

recently got a 2001 td4 auto 4 door and the rear wiper wont work off the switch...but when you select reverse it works?.....what should i look at first?
