Looks like this guy may have cracked it

It doesn't have any front fog lights fitted but as you say they could have been removed; who knows but it seem the previous owners (or one of them) like to modify as the audio has been re-wired in the past which allowed me to fit an aftermarket stereo without having to make the changes myself...

Probably unrelated, but does anyone know what this button is for? It doesn't seem to have any function that I can pinpoint

Thanks for the swift replies. I have been filling up into the standard tank and it does not seem to be losing fuel, in fact it has been surprisingly un-greedy (is that a word?). I have not opened the can to have a look/smell in fear of causing problems to the car which has ran very well so far

Yeah it is clearly a non-standard installation but sadly I bought it at auction so cannot contact the previous owner to ask him/her.
