Thank you,was coming up transfer box neutral but no longer get this message-just need someone reliable to fix this,sitting on drive with mot running out each day.was perfect before,no noise,clunking anything untoward.

range rover td6,drives forward in neutral,reverse and drive.no reverse,dash corresponding to gears selected apart from no 5th gear displayed,could this be a faulty xyz switch?not took cable off side of box yet to try manually selecting gears,any help appreciated. thanks.

Im still getting transfer box neutral message on dash.

If I put the selector in neutral with foot on brake,select hi/low the car clunks violently like its trying to engage,i don't fancy removing cable and selecting a gear by hand with engine running while under the car,bit scary that.

rac bloke tried adjusting cable and no luck.

drives forward in reverse and in neutral,weird.

When I switch for high-low it makes a clunk,if I switch it a few times just clunks,violently back and forth

bit of a shame to brake it up for parts,nice truck but now this gearbox issue,its just sitting on drive at moment.

deffo gonna try to get money back,got trading standards involved at moment.

Will try that,only had 6months and paid 5k for it,garage dunna wanna know.so if I cant sort it I might sell,td6 anniversary in nice nick.fault on box/gear change.

Thanks mark,rac bloke tried adjusting cable on side of box with no joy,when he tried adjusting cable it jumped back a few inches but still no reverse gear,i was thinking maybe selector assembly,box was fine before hand with no noise or signs of any faults.

Thanks for cheering me up and I realise this now,im off to buy a more reliable car tomorrow.dont know what I will do with this thing.

It is seriously doing my nut in,i just want to burn it,only had 6 months and not been far.paid 5k for this and cant drive the thing.Iis there any gear position sensor/switch that may be faulty.

car starts fine,i will check voltage and see.rca bloke was pretty useless and could not say what was wrong.can there be an internal box fault that would stop reverse,although it moves forward?difficult to get professional diagnostics as I cant move the bloody thing.

just put a brand new battery on it,so deffo no fault there.im stumped on this one,so not transfer box motor,not gear linkage on side of box,what is it,any ideas folks?

If I put back in park I can hear a noise like something trying to connect-sounds like transfer box motor trying to engage.does anyone know if a faulty transfer box motor would stop reverse?or would it be an internal box fault/rebuild jobby.
