    TD5 auto box reliability

Thanks James. With hindsight I have to agree. He was sold to me as an expert (he says he has been dioing autobox work since he was a child, worked for rolls royce etc) and he was the only player in the game. I am in the middle of nowhere and auto cars are almost unknown. If its not 4 cylinder...

    TD5 auto box reliability

I had problems with my auto box at 50k . Noticed a drip of oil hitting the exaust pipe and making smoke. Took it to a specilist auto box guy. He said it was a leak on the pipe from the box to the oil cooler. 150 euros to fix, a common problem where the clips rub on the pipe....Apparanly it wasnt...

    No Noise on start up

Dont know if this helps...My mate runs a 2002 V8 almost identical to mine, except that he has owned it since new. His makes no noise at all on start up or at any other time and his driven it for 60k without a problem. Mine pings on start up to tell me to put the seat belt on. Pings if I leave...

    Leaking Sun Roof's

Got the same problem and used the same method as Discochimp except I parked uphill in the rain. Dropped the roof liner down today and found the drain pipe broken at point 10 on the diagram. The right hand elbow bit was hard to buy but the rest is easy.

just fitted a britpart mesh one. Its OK. Keeps mut in the back. I never drop the back seats so its not an issue for me.It works out well for both of us. He gets his own sunroof for ventilation, and I dont get dog slobber down the rear windows when he sticks his head out . The fitting...

What am I doing wrong ?

Had the three amigos coming on intermitantly for the last few months, but I was able to switch off and restart to get rid of them. Last week I get the amigos back and they bring a friend with them, the red handbrake light and I can not reset. Also aware of a noise from the front offside. Strip...

Hi Gunner. If you wait a couple of days I may have an answer for you. Mine is a D2 facelift and I.was going to fit a set of Hella Compact 4000s this week. However they are being delivered by TNT and are stuck at ARNHEM HUB, so the jobs on hold. I intend to bumper mount them and went for the...

    Spotlights..Whats best ?

We are going to wire up the new spotlights to the nudge bar next week !! Two different schools of thought here. Do we take the easy option and wire them into the main beam, or run them off a separate switch like the front fogs ? Has anybnody had any hassel from MOT /Old bill etc doing it either...

Fitting spotlights to a D2 Facelift

Yes they would point skywards. The lamps have the normal single point to fix to the surface, but the lugs hang down from the underside of the top bar. The only way to attach them is at 90 degrees to the top bar. Hence my thought that there must be some kind of additional bracket that fits the...

Fitting spotlights to a D2 Facelift

My camera has died ! However it is a genuine part. Number STC53174. The bar that Discool shows is not the same. He has them mounted on the lower bar. This bar on mine is floppy. The two lugs are on the underside of the upper bar.

Fitting spotlights to a D2 Facelift

Hi guys. Have just fitted an OM soft nudge bar to the disco. It looks great. Stage two is fitting the spolights...and the problems start. My mate has a snide one fitted to his disco, and its looks identical except compared to the OM part its crap. However he has two recessed marks on the base of...

    Anyone interested?

Gotta be the weight... Years ago I bought a stainless steel parrot cage off e bay. Looked nice and I thought "stainless steel.. must be good ". Got it moved by Parcel force. They charged me a fortune. Turns out it needed two people to lift it ! Must be about the same with a roofrack.. would be a...
