Yes you maybe right, it could be the pulley if its worn the belt out quite quickly thus spinning and not charging. Any ideas on where to get hold of a new pulley?

So you think the alternators fine and just needs a new belt? Any specific belt makes you can recommend? I just used a normal alternator belt from mm4x4 last time.

Ok thats great, I had the same problem about 6 months ago so fitted a new belt. Now its starting again so your probably right, new alternator or rebuild. Cheers anyway

Just recently that my rpm counter sometimes stops working when i have a lot of appliances working, i.e wipers, heater and headlights. Then I hear a squeel from the alternator belt aswell. Can anyone shed some light on this? cheers

just been out and put the transfer box in neutral and tried rotating the prop by hand and no luck.

prop shaft is rotaing all the way to final drive unit. so must be something at the final drive unit or rear drive shaft?

yes its 1991 and it is 4wd. prop shaft is rotating when driving but know rear wheel traction. viscous coupling then maybe you think?

Took my rangie up into the hills today and i noticed while skidding in snow that its only running 2wd. Everything on the trucks working fine but dont know why its not working rear wheel drive any ideas?

I found today that when i go to lock the door from the drivers side it will lock then just the drivers side will unlock again. I tried lockin it from the passenger side and everything works and locks fine. anyone know whats goin on here?

Rev counter suddenly stopped working in my rangey today without reason (haven't been tickering around with anything lately). anyone no whats causing this?

Got in my range rover this morning and found when I closed the door, after a while, the interior lights didnt switch off. Also I was driving the lights would flick on and off now and again. Anyone no whats going on here? I think maybe the timer switch?

This morning I have started the car and noticed no indicators are working and the speedo doesnt work. Im pretty sure this is an electric problem, can anyone help?

Hi, since yesterday my driverside electric window is jamming about 10mm from the top. while still pressing the window switch, a clicking sound can be heard as if somethings in jamming the mechanism. Can anyone help with this matter? Thanks
