Timing markers on 2.5 n/a petrol

Hi again all, I can't believe I am posting about this again, sorry all I spoke to LR who stated I only needed the one spacer and that it connect to the side of the timing case. So I am looking for 1 bolt set back further than another still spaced in the same distance apart as the piece. I...

    2012 Low Emission Zone (LEZ)

Hi all, I have a 2.5 N/A petrol, which is exempt from the LEZ as it's petrol. however I have been thinking about putting the 200tdi engine in, how would this affect me? Would this still leave me exempt? It is a 90 station wagon but it states light 4x4 utility on the registration certificate...

Galvanised, to paint or not to paint?

You can paint it, have done so with the rear crossmember of my galv chassis. I coated it with mordant solution, sometimes known as T Wash, leave it for a couple of hours and it will go black. Then wash it off, allow it to dry then I sprayed an etch primer, then I sprayed it with Pro cote primer...

    LPG onto a 2.5...

Ignore my reply saying about the platinum spark plugs, I have changed them to NGK plugs which have worked fine. The earlier ones were fine as well but just wanted to make sure. It has always been able to start from cold and I don't have electronic ignition! I have been smartening my conversion...

    Headlight surround help

I used the pro-cote red primer on the grill and head lamp surrounds and then satin black pro-cote. It was really simple, I used back to black loads of times last year when I first got it and within a year its grey again. Hopefully this will last a bit longer. It looks like they haven't even been...

    Headlight surround help

I've given this a go now with the same pro-cote spray, see pics for results. Also did it on my galvanised rear x member as I didn't like the silver shine. I used some T-wash and etching primer first. Seems to have come out well though. Just need to sort out the bumper :)

    Loud grinding/whine

It sounds like it's coming from the area of the front axle, apart from that it is difficult to pinpoint. I believe I have now ruled out front prop.

    Loud grinding/whine

Hey all again, UJS replaced! There is still a grinding sound though? Any idea what else it could be. Only happens at set speeds, no matter what gear I am in it still happens at the same speeds. Any help greatly appreciated. Mark

    Steering guard help

Thanks, I've stopped trying now as I have figured out that it will only fit if I drill through my chassis at a point that I really don't want to, so I'll pass it back to the person I got it from as I think he had someone else lined up for it if I didn't want it, shame but that just gives me...

    Headlight surround help

Thanks, I used back to black on them last year and on my headlight surrounds, I got them black again but they faded again within a few months, as you say I'll need to re-apply, it's just annoying that they just fade far too quickly
