turbo was a good one, took pipe off again and vanes spin free and hardly any play, if it was no good like the one i took off it would still rev up, reading loads of posts on same problem and it seems its a timing problem, still trying to find wich three flange bolts i have to undo to move ip...

ok thanks will check that, im also going to try and do ip timing but following the tut it says pump should move freely after loosining the three flange bolts, are they the bolts inside inspection hole or the ones holding pump on at the rear, cheers.:o

hope its not headgasket lol, when i say it sprayed i ment it sprayed fuel from were it joins at the top not from nozzle, if i take that injector out could i attach it back to fuel line and start engine to see if it sprays fuel from the nozzle, cheers

hi update, tried bypassing sedi filter but no change ie used bottle of derv direct to lift pump, but what i have found is that when engine running on tickover i undid each injector pipe at top of injector, 3 sprayed fuel and made engine tone change but one sprayed but didnt change tone of...

im in leicester, turbo from ebay and from a low milage disco, there was a load of black crap when i did egr so cleaned out what i could, i tried removing turbo hoses and tried to rev up but still wont go over 1500 rpm, im not a great derv mechanic but if it was a petrol car id say it was timing...

thanks will try bottle and checking lift pump, temp never goes over halfway, i got disco 2 weeks ago and chap said he had changed headgasket along with ip and water pump, he said he had just done it along with all the welding, car ran ok but black smoke and no power so i did egr and checked...

hi, used a blanking kit off ebay to sort egr, hoses look good but elbow one expands when revved up, it was black smoke before egr/turbo change but more blue/white smoke now ?

hi thanks for reply, car wasnt this bad before i changed the turbo and did egr blank, previous owner did the head etc on the car, would timing be affected by putting turbo on the car or do you think putting redex in as shiffted a bit of crap and clogged up something, cheers

hi all, just got my first disco 300 tdi, 95 model, all welding been done, new headgaasket, waterpump, fuel injector pump, so looking good, but it started blowing black smoke and no power so blanked off egr and got a turbo because old one was leaking oil and plane inside was all over the place...
