A welder is one of the important tools when owning a Landrover. Either learn to weld self taught or take a evening class in welding. That will be as good a repair if not better than the garage and will more than likely cost a fraction that they will charge you.

The drivers side gets the most wear. You say you checked the springs so you have springs all round?. Usually the drivers side springs are slightly higher to compensate for the driver being in the vehicle. Maybe your springs are weakening think about changing them.

Cheers for your help Ronsealdeath. I think it will be a pre-pressed in wide angle, new nuts, new bolts and polybushes looks like the lesser of too evils.

I was wondering have easy is it to get the A frame ball joint out of the A frame?. Would it be easier to get the bearing that already on the fulcrum bracket?. Is the wide angle joint for the A frame worth getting?. Cheers

Have you taken the wheels off to see if there are any markings on the rear?.
