There did not appear to be any room for adjustment when fitting the new drop arm as the splines are machhined with fine and larger splines only allowing it to be fitted when drop arm and shaft line up!

For the last 3 years in my 300 tdi i have used 15/40 diesel oil from my local wilko store at £8.50 for 5 litres, my engine is on just over 160000 and loves the stuff! I once made the mistake of asking my misses to get me some oil, she paid £24 for some castrol magnatec, my truck hated it, did...

When renewing the timing belt on 300 tdi is it necessary to replace the timing belt tensioner or can you just replace the belt:confused:

I only appear to have a cable from battery to transfer box:eek: it does not appear to be earthed to the chassis! This would explain the lights dimming when i release the hand brake as the system is earthing down through the handbrake! So to remedy this i need to run a cable from the transfer...

I have a 110 CSW 1997, i know where the earth strap is from -ve battery to body but i dont know where the the engine/gearbox earth strap is usually fixed:confused: any ideas:confused:

Thats why i was thinking i might just cut it and split it and put a new arm on if the arm puts up too much resistance to removal!

Don't think i did so i may try this first, depending on how corroded it is in there!

I am looking to replace the steering drop arm on my 1997 110 csw defender and have been looking on paddocks for the part. They are described as PAS drop arm, with the choice of 3,4 or 6 bolt :confused: where do i look on my truck to decide which one i need:confused:

I have a 1997 300 tdi 110 CSW. I am replacing wheel bearings on both sides to both front and rear axle. I bought the parts from my local Landy garage who are very reputeable, i got 8 timken bearings and 4 inner seals. Do i need another 4 seals for the outer bearing:confused:
